HELP! Pop Century, CB or WL???

We are planning to go in August, and had been planning on staying at Pop Century. We have previously stayed at the all stars (all of them in fact) and AKL. Our son is 5. With the 7 for 5 speical, it only comes down to about $500 difference between Pop Century and Wilderness Lodge. But, CB looks nice too.

Any opinions? Where would you stay if given the choice?

Well, since you're comparing a value, mod & a deluxe, I'd pick the deluxe all the time.

WL is a great resort!

Okay, we had the same dilemma last year with the pay for 4 stay for 7 deal. We went for Wilderness Lodge and loved it. We took a boat to the MK every morning and it was beautiful. On the flip side, my dd6 (although was thrilled to be in Disney and would sleep in a cardboard box)...said several times that she wished we would have been at the ASMo...go figure. The slide in the pool helped ease her pain but she just really loves the colors and icons at the Value Resorts. We are going to stay at Pop this time, hope she likes it!!

I have stayed at WL and CB. WL wins everytime. Your daughter is still at the MK age and you cant beat the boat to MK. We went everyday, even if was for an hour in the evening after another park and a nap. We also took a boat to CR and caught the monorail from there for a change from the buses. And everything within the resort is close so there are no long walks with tired children.

We stayed at WL for the first time at Easter and it is fabulous!! I can't imagine choosing PC or CB over WL -- plus, with a 5-yr old it is so worth it to be closer to the MK. Just hop on the boat and you're there (same for CR/Chef Mickey's). And since our kids really enjoy riding the monorail, we'd often take the boat to CR then ride the monorail to the MK (but be aware that the boat from CR to WL doesn't run much past park closing so if you stay til closing it's best to plan to just wait for the WL boat -- we found out that one the hard way)!

I voted for the Wilderness Lodge for several reasons. It's a great resort, it's small and compact, so you don't feel you are walking miles to get anywhere, there is one bus stop vs. several at CBR, the staff is great, the pools & hot tubs are wonderful and so much more.

Go with the WL!!! I have stayed at all three- there is just no contest! My Ds actually liked the WL better than AKL and keeps asking to go back!

If you have the money and don't mind spending it, by all means stay at WL. If you don't have it, or have it but would rather spend it on something else, there's no hardship in staying at Pop Century. As long as the fairly loud decor doesn't bother you, it's a perfectly acceptable hotel.

Pick the Deluxe as long as the expense of this vacation does not effect the time in between trips to WDW. I look at my room differently than I used to. I 'want' (and can afford) to stay in the AKL or WL with an AP rate, but I book a Value resort. I put the 'saved' money in my WDW savings account for my next trip. I already have part of my 'Deluxe room stay' paid for when I book my next trip, and if I choose a Value resort the next time the 'savings' will go in the account. Doing it this way keeps me on track for regular visits to WDW. The water is just as wet and as cool in a Value resort pool as it is in a Deluxe, and when you think about it- how much time do you REALLY spend at the hotel site????
