Okay, we have stayed at POP several times, however, my mom and sister have both stayed at POFQ and keep raving about it. We have already booked POP for out trip in October of 08, but are willing to change. DH, DD(6) and I looked at the pictures of POFQ this morning and of course DD loved the looks of the pool.

Please give me your choice of where to stay and the reason for it.

Thank you!!!

Trish

Ok I have stayed at both. We like them both so I will give my breakdown.

Pop does not share buses very nice, Food court has tons of choices, it is a fun resort & we had a great time.

POFQ the size is a great factor it is small & cozy. The pool has slides & you can use the pools at Riverside. Hot tub & boat to DTD are great. Rooms are a touch larger. Food court is good not as much choices as Pop. The table service place is at Riverside.

Here's my humble advice, having stayed ay both and having a DS the same age.

If you are only going to be using the resort to sleep and swim, stay with Pop and pocket the extra money for souveniers, etc. (While the slide at POFQ is great, it is the only pool and can get quite crowded unless you hike or ferry to POR's quiet pools. And as you know, Pop has some great pools too).

If you are planning to spend a day or more at the resort itself, go with POFQ since you will be able to take advantage of some of its amentities along with POR (cane pole fishing, sit down restaurant, kids' river cruise, etc.).

No matter which you choose, have a great trip!

I've stayed at both. Actually we just returned from our trip to POFQ. I would pick POFQ. The rooms are bigger, the pool slide is great, it comes with a refrigerator (you will have to pay at POP). When we go back next year, I am definitely staying at PORQ again. They also have horse and carriage rides at night and boat rides down the river. Have fun on your trip!!!

How many nights will you be staying?

I'm glad I found this thread! I'm trying to decide whether to try PO French Quarter or go back to Pop, which is my fav resort. I think I will give FQ a try. I hear good things about the entertainers there, and I like the idea of having a boat to DTD. I had forgotten about the frig. It was nice having one in the room at CSR, and I wouldn't get that at Pop. Merci beaucoup!

I think you'll find that you like the transportation at POP much better than the shared transportation at POFQ/POR.

You'd be absolutely *CRAZY* NOT to switch to POFQ if you can afford it! :) We have also stayed at both and POFQ is the ideal. It is smaller and homey and a very romantic area. There is a beautiful lake you can walk by or take a boat from to DTD. Bus transportation is excellent. Buses are constantly going and POFQ is picked up before POR. When it gets really busy, they have POFQ only buses. There also never seems to be a lot of kids or people at this resort which makes it very relaxing. The rooms are much larger and have a refrigerator free of charge. There is also an awesome pool with a big serpent slide themed to The Little Mermaid and a hot tub. The pool loops around in a fun shape and has alligators dancing throughout. POFQ also has a lounge area with nightly entertainment featuring Jazz music, etc.

Pop is very, very busy and crowded. It is more kiddish with the big icons and quite large in size. While you don't share a bus, it is almost always crowded because the resort is larger. The rooms are smaller than POFQ and can be crowded when you have two beds in there as opposed to a king. You do not get a refrigerator free of charge - it is $10 a night - and the pool does not have any slides or activity other than the 60's flower sprayers.
