Help Please!

OK, I really need help! We are first timers to DW. ( me, DH, DD 11, Dniece 11) We will be coming Oct. 30-Nov. 3rd. I really need some "expert" advice from all of you out there. Is there a big difference between staying at Pop Century vs. LBV Best Western in Downtown Disney? Will we miss out on much staying at the Best Western? We could save a LOT of money by staying there, but I'm afraid we might be missing out on something. They do have transportation to DW every 1/2 hour. I'm really confused on what to do. Thanks so much for your advice!

If you can save a lot of money by staying in DTD, then do it. You are still near the "magic". You can walk to DTD from the LBV-BW & from POP you cannot... Each of them have transportation to the parks...what you may miss would be the food court...but then you have more of a selection in the area of LBV-BW for food. You may miss the Disney decor.... that is about it... I would go with LBV-BW if it meant saving a lot of money... you can spend it in other places....how much time will you really be in the resort??? By the way.. I have stayed at LBV-BW several times but never at POP... I have stayed at all of the other Disney Value resorts....and LBV-BW's rooms are much larger than Disney's Value & they all have a balcony...which Disney's don't .... the one thing I will be honest about it the pool... I didn't like the pool at LBV-BW. It seemed to be too small for a resort that size.... I do like Disney's Value resorts pools much better... hope this has helped you....

The only reason why I chose to stay on site was the 5 plus 2 deal that I got. I also like that we have the UPH which includes admission to TL and BB.
This is my first trip too, so I don't have advice from past experience but you will choose the right spot for you!

stay with disney! its worth every penny. we learned this the hard way. The DTD hotel busses are crowded and inconvenient. Disney does everyhing up better. they know how to take care of you. we'd go back to a disney value resort over a multi starred DD hotel anytime in the future.

DITTO!! DITTO!! DITTO!!

we also learned the hard way... i cannot imagine staying out side of wdw again, ever! (and i prefer a value over a moderate!)

Don't forget the extra perks - charging on your room key, package delivery to your resort, the disney theme park channels. There's nothing like not having to worry about your credit cards and cash because they're safe in your room safe, and not having to carry your souvenirs back with you.
