Is it worth it to Upgrade from value to moderate? Besides the pool and scenery, is there anything different AKA rooms and such? we don't spend much time in our hotel room, but didn't know if it was worth the extra money?

Only you can decide if upgrading to a moderate is worth it for your family. It is worth it to ours for the following reasons.

Bigger room
Fridge in room
Double sinks
Hot tubs
Table Service restaraunt
Covered bus stops
Nicer grounds/scenery
Pool slides

Ok thanks :) I wasnt sure if the rooms were different or if it was simply hey we look prettier :D thanks for the input. Ill most likely upgrade for the room space and such :)

If you're like us, we just sleep there, get up and go. But if laze around more and like to read, etc. then a moderate will be better for it has more amenities. That being said, we prefer POP over any of them because it's been refurbed, has value pricing, has a great theme and people running it. This will be our 6th year there this September. We used to stay at POR but prefer pop over it.:surfweb:

If you want to pay the price of a moderate but stay at a delux, try the swan/dolphin. Book directly through starwoods not disney.

We have stayed at all three levels. The Value's are great, fun, and really neat hotels. However, they have a motel feel. The mods on the other hands, I really do think you step up to a "resort" feel, at least for us. Instead of being "kitschy" and ostentatious, they are instead relaxed, more "pretty", and more inviting.

We still find time to stay at all three levels, with the Deluxes our favorite, but you can't go wrong with Port Orleans Riverside, or any other mod. If you have the bucks, go for it, but by no means scrimp on any other part of your trip to stay at the mod.

Have a great trip!

We upgrade to the mods for the bus service alone. POR and POFQ even have the boats to DTD.
The mods have a more of a resort feel than the values do IMO.

Before the DDP was a factor we used to split our stay between a mod and a value. A few times deluxe (AKL) and a value. That was one we we could have the nice experience but also save some money.

Now we pretty much stay at POP. We don't care about the buses since we rent a car. We visit some of the other resorts for a meal.

The hot tubs are nice as are the ceiling fans. It's all a personal choice. We don't spend much time in our room so staying value is fine with us. That being said, when money starts to flow again, I can see us staying at POFQ or CBR again. Maybe even a return trip to AKL. :wizard:

It was definitely worth it to us. We had stayed value twice. Our first was at ASMu and it was fine. We used to stay every year at BC but our son found it 'boring' so we let him pick out where he wanted to stay. He picked ASMu and it worked fine for us (to our surprise!). The next year he chose ASMo and it was an absolute nightmare. We had rude brazilian dancers/cheerleaders everywhere. The hotel wouldnt do anything about them so we decided never to go value again. I'm so glad. Our son picked POR last year and POFQ for our trip we just returned from. We loved POR much more than POFQ but both were so much better than the values. I will not do that again. I would definitely pay the upgrade again!

I love love pop century. But we go for 10 days so the room gets smaller and smaller on us as the week goes on and my kids buy more stuff. That is the only probelm we have with it. We do spend alot of time at the resort so don't let they sway your choice. We have stayed at all levels.

We are suppose to be staying at CBR this year but I'm really having second thoughts. Part of it is the 750.00 more it is costing us to stay there. We are also giving up our wp&M option to stay there. Not sure if it is going to be the right choice for us.

As a 30-something couple, we prefer mods/deluxe over value for one major reason: fewer kids running outside our room. It's not that we don't like kids and they don't exist at the hotels we stay at, we just prefer the adult feel.
