I'm going to be traveling in late December and early January with my family of 5. Also, we will be joining 6 other relatives for much of the vacation. We'll be doing some things together, but not everything.

Everyone else is what I describe as "not as Disney-informed as myself." I know my nieces (who will be 4 & 3 at the time) would love to attend character breakfasts....etc, but the rest of my family is not into planning ahead. They are just going to "wing it."

Here's my problem...I know they won't have any luck getting into Chef Mickeys or CRT without ADR's....and they won't wait hours for a table with the girls. Should I make my reservations for all 11 of us, or will that hurt my chances of getting ADR's in the first place? We're not doing CRT, but we'll be doing Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and Tusker House for Breakfasts. Can you even get ADR's for 11?? I'm guessing it would be easier with 5...but I don't want my nieces to miss out.

I do plan on taking both of the girls to the Boutique for a birthday presents. I have all boys, so it'll be lots of fun!!

Thanks!!!

Make a ressie for 5 and one for 6. Keep in mind Character meals aren't just breakfasts. Perhaps plan one of their first night, less "obstacles in the way" and it will convince them early on that those ADRs are a good thing. Then have a few more planned for later in the trip.

A couple of pointers/reminders:
1. You'll need to book them under different phone numbers or they'll view it as double booking and possibly cancel one. You may even want to use different names as well.

2. If you are staying on site seriously consider the DP. At that time of year you'll pay Holiday prices, about $4 more per Adult and $2 per child for most character and many buffet meals. So if you'll do a TS meal most everyday it should save you money.

3. Booking seperate TS ressies gives you the freedom to cancel their meals w/o impacting your family. If you want to sit together at those meals, you'll just need to ask the hostess to try to put you together, it may not happen, but if you book 11 and need to cancel half the group chances of getting a 5 top might be slim at that time of year.

Just my thoughts.

Thanks so much for all the information. I didn't even think about two seperate ADR's. I suppose I should not request them at the same time...lol.
