I am in need of some serious help. This is my first trip to disney in 21 yrs (I was last there when I was 6). I'm taking my god daughter (9) with me and we will be celebrating my birthday while we are there in Nov. She has no idea that we are going and I would like to do something special for her. I wanted to have a stuffed Mickey Mouse or something equally nice delivered to the room at the resort we will be staying at, so that it will be there when we arrive. Has anyone else done this before? If so, can you tell me how to go about doing it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have not tried to do this but I would start by calling Disney directly. Call your resort and ask if they could possibly take care of this for you. I know that there are companies that deliver gifts and such - cannot recall the name but there is a dis member who owns one. (Can anyone supply that info, please?) DO tell them when you check in that you are celebrating your BD while there. In 2002, we celebrated my son's BD and twice he got cards signed by characters left in our room. You can also get a birthday button on main street. You will be wished a magical birthday throughout the day by all CMs. AND - this will be during the Million Dreams - so who knows? You might have an extra special birthday surprise! Happy birthday! :)

I would just call Disney reservations at (407) WDISNEY, as I have found they are always pretty helpful. If you are staying at a Disney Hotel, I'm betting they can arrange something really nice (depending on how much you want to spend).

HI & :welcome: to the Dis!!!

"Feralpeg" is the name of the DISer on this board that runs her own Disney gift basket delivery service. I've looked at her page before & she can get you just about anything you want.

Sorry, but I don't know how to provide a link to her page.

Something like this might be perfect--as I understand it, you can pick your plush, and select whatever other treats you'd like to include, so you could make sure to get your god daughter's favorite candy, etc.

It may not actually be IN your room when you arrive, but you should be able to get it (I think from Bell Services?) pretty quickly after you check in. We shipped a box of stuff to ourselves last year, and we were barely in the room when Bell Services showed up with the box. I was very surprised--we hadn't even called to ask to have it delivered yet!

Maybe when you check in (and she is distracted by the cartoons in the lobby), you could arrange with the Bell Desk to have it placed in your room while the two of you go to the food court for lunch or to check out the pool and shopping? I would guess they could just put it in the room, since they had no way of knowing whether we were in our room or not when they brought the package down to us last year.

You could also go to the "Pay it Forward" thread and ask someone have a character send her a postcard. This is a very special part of DIS. The cards can say what ever... you give the author an idea & then Voila! Mickey & Minnie are telling her how excited they are that she's coming! It's part of the magic!
Have fun planning! :wave2:

We just took our granddaughter to Disney for her birthday. We called WDW DINE and they directed us to where we could order a cute princess bucket delivered to our room with a small birthday cake. We also had lunch with the princesses. Don't forget to get her a pin she can wear that says it is her birthday. It doesn't have to be her exact birthday. Call Disney they have all kinds of ideas. HAve a great time!

:love: Thank you all for all of the wonderful suggestions. I was at a total loss as to what I could do. Thanks again

At any Disney resort you can call guest relations. I usually call the day I am arriving. They have autographed pics, balloons and pixie dust that they will put in the room for free. If you want an item from the gift shop they will do that as well with a credit card. They have a floral shop that also delivers gift baskets, etc. On our last trip I had a basket with a card for each of the kids that read Happy Unbirthday to you from the Mad Hatter.

they have a new thing in downtown disney at the world of disney- all young girls can get their hair, nails done, its a prin :love: cess treatment. i would call disney for more info, i know it does book up fast

Downtown Disney's salon is Bibbity Bobbity Boo. I guess they take adults too, like alot of brides. If your goddaughter is a girly-girl, that would be memorable! And somewhere there's a Amican Girl tea that would be nice too. The hair-do is like $30??? and the American Girl tea is $100??? (I'm trying to remember so dont quote me!)

My mom surprises me with this four years ago when I was nine...go to the MK AS SOON as it opens--wait at gate--go straight to Tinkerbell's Treasures (left of castle) and ask to "Wake up Tinkerbell." The lights go on all around you as your daughter opens the box that Tink "sleeps in." She will get a certificate with her name on it and feel extra special.

:wave2: Hello, there!

Well, whever you go for your resort you go to the front desk and tell them of the special event. They will tell you they will deliver it as a "gift" from the hotel and you will find it on your pillow. :goodvibes

There is also this place I do not remember of its name, in downtown disney, where you can get her dressed up as her favorite princess, they do her hair makeup, and so on just to look like the princess. Its very nice but isnt cheap. ^_^;
