Fuji S7000 now £199 ( Birthday Money)
Canon S2 £235 ish ( soon)
or Nikon D50 £400 ish (for Xmas)

What should I do?????????

wait 'til x-mas. You'll have more than just D50 as an option (and maybe cheaper too) you'll never be 100% content with point and shoot if ou final goal is dSLR.

trust me, when the time comes, there will be at least 9 more new choices to choose from. 2 already emerged from Pentax, 2 will emerge from Sony, at least 3 will emerge from Canon, at least 2 will emerge from Nikon before the year ends.

Purchasing a higher quality product, like a DSLR, will hold a better resale value. I sold my Sony 717 and accessories for more than half of the purchase price!
