Hi all. When I first booked my october holiday on may 25th I think, I had a 10% online booking discount. This evening I added a 5 day disney park ticket. I had £178 to pay before adding the the 5 day ticket which was £170.

Now it seems I only have a 5% discount because my balance went up to
£450. Is there anything I can do to get it back to 10% or am I stuck with 5% any advice welcome. Thanks for reading.

Tim

Surely they can't take your discount away. The only thing i can think of is they've added a new fuel supplement on. You'll need to phone them and ask

On line booking discount is only 5% - you only get 10% being a frequent virgin????

yes you're right - on-line discount is 5% and even new FVC is 5% (only old continual membership gets 10% now through FVC) - We used to be members but didn't travel for 4 years due to the births of the children and we now just get 5% FVC discount!!:sad2: :thumbsup2

I think it may be the fuel supplement ours went up after we had initially booked it in May as well.

This happened to me, I rang them and they put the 10% discount back on, they said its a problem with their system and that it does this automatically.

You also get 10% discount if you have a Virgin Credit Card. I managed to get a free child place, 10% discount and free tickets for the V-room!!!!:cool1:

There was a short period at the end of May when all on-line bookings were 10% off - that's when we booked our trip.

I have often noticed that the on-line booking with VH works well until the traveller needs to make an amendment.

You should be able to get the 10% back if you phone them. Apparently, the computer automatically adjusts to a lower discount whenever you make an amendment, and has to be put back manually. Trust me, I did it plenty of times last year... actually every time they changed my hotel and tried to tell me I hadn't booked ASMo or Disney Dining... but that's another VH story!

Ring them, and get it put back to 10%, you will need copy of your original 10% document / booking ref. when you call... they wont take your word for it. ;)

Sara. :)

I had to do this last year when I changed from Pop to POFQ and it was a bit painful at first but ended well.. I went through 2 operators that didn't understand what I was asking but then a third one couldn't have been more helpful and sorted it out for me really quickly :) If one operator tells you it can't be done then persist and if they still won't budge then hang up and call back.

I agree, I had one operator asking to fax over invoices to proof the 10% has been taken off, so I phoned back and the next operator added it on without a fuss.

It is best to avoid making changes to your booking online as the system seems to wipe out discounts and reprices the holiday.

Hi all. Thanks vey much for all your comments. Just got off the phone to VH after waiting nearly 2 hours for them to call back. As stated earlier, because I added the disney ticket the computer reverted back to 5% discount but the lady I spoke to put it back to 10% no questions asked, so a big :thumbsup2 to virgin holdays for that. Again thanks for all your replys.
