Ok, this is our first year vacationing with the DVC. We purchased in Aug 2008 at AK. We banked 2009 points and are going to the BC in Aug. To complicate things a bit, our neighbors own BC and they wanted to go to AK this year, so we ended up booking each other vacations so we could get in at the 11mos mark. Our point cost was identical, no problems.

So now my ADR window is coming up this week. Can I do it online with the DVC Ressie confirmation #. We are going to want the DP, my neighbor has to call and add that for us correct? Do we pay for that at check-in? Also, we are going 11 days, so we are going to do an AP instead of a hopper pass. Can I purchase that myself? I do that within the DVC website, correct? Now with that I just get a voucher that has to be redeemed when we get there, correct? (at a park or DTD?) Also it's $100less with the DVC membership correct?

Is there anything else I'm missing or anything else you foresee as a problem?

It's bad enough this is our first DVC trip, but not booking our self with our points kinda worries me.

Thanks!!!

Yes, your friend needs to add the DDP for you and you will pay for it at check in.

Your DVC Reservation # will work. I just booked my reservations for late July/early August. I think you are limited to 10 days of reservations from check in date.

We ordered the AP's through the member website but just did the Will Call option, instead of having the vouchers sent (that costs money and Will Call is free). And, yes, the current DVC discount is $100.

When we got to BWV, where we were staying, we went to the Guest Services window at the International gateway and picked them up. Very easy--just had to show my Driver's License and my DVC card.

Have a great trip!

You should not have any problems booking dining venues, but it doesn't always recognize DVC reservation numbers for the +10 booking window.

Yes, your neighbor will need to add the DDP for you, and you'll pay for it at check-in. Another option to consider with a AP is the TiW card - it gives a 20% discount on food and beverages, including adult beverages, at almost every Disney operated (and some non-Disney operated) table service restaurants.

There is a click-through on the member site to order an AP voucher, or you can simply purchase the APs in person at WDW at Gust Services outside one of the parks or DtD. Either way, you'll need your DVC Memebership Card and a Photo ID for each adult to purchase a pass or exchange a voucher.

From the main page on the DVC site, click MEMBER PRIVLEDGES at the top, then MEMBER PERKS > WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT > WDW ANNUAL PASS SAVINGS > WDW ANNUAL PASS SAVINGS (different page, link has same name) > scroll down to HOW TO PURCHASE A PASS, and click on the WALT DISNEY WORLD TICKET STORE.

Have a great time at BCV! Once you experience Stormalong Bay... no other pool will do! I highly recommend cape May... the Character Breakfast is great.
