I will be spending a few days alone on my next trip, while I await my daughter's arrival. I plan to go to the parks a couple of times, but thought I would spend some quality pool time for a few of the days. So, if I still want to have an enjoyable meal, which resort restaurants would you recommend? :confused3 Please remember that I am alone, and so the romantic places are probably not my first choice. Also, although I'm not against splurging, I would rather not spend a TON of money for a lonely meal... Thanks so much for your expert suggestions!!

Do you have a car? If so Oliva's at OKW is a nice place with good food and not to expensive. You can even catch a boat from there and back to downtown disney its a nice ride and something different to do

Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club would be a great place. You can sit inside or can people watch with your meal at one of the patio tables outside. I also enjoyed Kona Cafe and Ohana at the Poly. Both have wonderful food and aren't too pricey, and you can stroll through the grounds afterward - it's beautifully landscaped. POR also has great landscaping, so a trip to Boatwrights might be a good plan. You could stop there for breakfast (the french toast is yummy!) and then take the boat to DTD.

check out the boardwalk. I could spend all day at espn club or the microbrewery on the boardwalk.

I really enjoy Spoodles at the Boardwalk. Not only is the food delis, but BW has great atmosphere to enjoy around your dining time. It's not overly expensive.

How about taking the bus to MK and then hopping the monorail. You won't need to enter the MK, just transfer.

I agree that Kona Cafe is a great choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The Grand Floridian Cafe is a beautiful restaurant with good food and service at a moderate (for WDW) price. Concourse Steakhouse is another decent choice. You can also wander around these great resorts and the shops are fun too.

The Boardwalk resorts have some good choices too but aren't as easy or fun to get to depending on where you are staying.

If you will have a car, there are lots of other good choices. Have fun!

I so appreciate the quick responses. :goodvibes

I do have a car, if that helps with future suggestions!

CSR, go to the pepper market then take the food outside to the tables by the lake. Its a great view, very relaxing. You can do some people watching and enjoy a leisurely meal.

GF - there is G-something grill, you can get take out like sandwiches, salads, etc. Take them outside and sit on the patio with a great view.

I second the Boardwalk suggestions. The microbrewery has an outside eating area.

As you can tell I'm on an outside eating kick! Enjoy!

Some of our favorite resort restaurants that I would hit alone are Kona Cafe, ESPN(you could even eat at the bar here if you would rather not have a table alone), and Beaches & Cream.
Another option if you would rather not eat alone in a restaurant is to get take out and then bring the food to the tables by the pool and eat out there. I did this recently while staying at the Swan. I got take out from the Garden Grove for lunch and had nice meal outside....and a frozen drink from the pool bar for dessert. ;)

I agree with a lot posted already, and here are some others:
Beaches & Cream
Spoodles
ESPN
Ohana

We enjoy the following and we have seen single diners in all of them:

Ohana's--Poly
Boatwrights--POR
Maya Grill--CS
Beaches and Cream--BC
Whispering Canyon--WL

With a car another suggestion is the Sand Trap. It is in the clubhouse for Osprey Ridge and (I can't think of the other name!!!). Good prices and food and not too crowded. There is a long bar where people sit and talk to the bartender. I've seen singles as well as golfers there. It is a nice atmosphere...bright and sunny and friendly. Tables too of course.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe at DTD is good too. And many people like the sandwiches at Earl of Sandwich in the Marketplace.
