I am new to DVC, our first trip home will be in 3 short weeks. I am not sure if i understand something and I need some help please.

We are going for 7 days and have purched 7 days hopper pass with water park and more. We love Disney Quest and plan to try a water park this time as well so need the more part.

My husband and I are thinking about maybe using some points or paying cash for 3 days in Feb. so are thinking maybe we should upgrade the 2 of ours to annual passes. Here are the questions
1. Is it just the difference we pay? I think I have it at 160.00 which is cheaper then a 3 day ticket if we come back.

2. With the annual pass, do we get 20% off at most restaurants? We are not doing dinning so this could be quite a savings as well.

3. Do we have to upgrade our boys tickets? They will not be going again in the next year so we would hate to waste that money, and if we did have to I am not sure it would be worth it.

Am I missing something else? :confused3

THANKS

Yes, you will pay the difference between the current price of the Premium AP and the price you paid for your 7-day tickets. (Technically, if you bought your 7-day passes prior to the price increase on August 2nd or 4th or whenever it was, then you use your pass at least one time, the value of the pass will "upconvert" to the current selling price.)

You must make any upgrade within 14 days of using your current pass, regardless of the expire/non-expire status of that pass.

You do get some discounts on dining - but not that many. There are some resort and park restaurants that offer 10% off with restrictions like lunch only for some. Most, if not all of these are limited to Monday-Friday. There are also 10% or 20% off discounts at some Downtown Disney restaurants.

What you might be thinking of is Tables in Wonderland, a discount card that can be purchased by Florida residents or AP holders. This is $75 for AP holders and is good for ~13 months. It offers 20% off dining (including alcohol) at most Disney restaurants, though it excludes many DTD restaurants. We find it to be an excellent value.

No, you can all have different types of tickets, and if they aren't going again, then it isn't going to be worth it.
