there will be 5 of us. dh and i. son, daughter in law and 6 year old granddaughter.
we want to stay on site, hoping for a moderate. i can't find anything with the summer
discount. we are really looking for june. should i just call disney? it's taking forever punching
in dates one day at a time.
any suggestions???

You probably won't get a summer discount at this point. Inventory was always limited and the rooms are likely already booked. To accommodate 5, you either need Port Orleans Riverside, Caribbean Beach or a Family Suite at All-Star Music or AOA. A Deluxe room that sleeps 5 would also work.

You can call, but I think they see discounts the same way you do, punching in dates.

Have you tried 3rd party sites like Orbitz? We have had reservations for 4 nights for the last week of this month, but just last Sunday we decided that we wanted to stay longer. I couldn't find additional nights directly through Disney but I was able to make reservations through Orbitz for an additional 2 nights at about 35% off rack price (Using an additional 15% off Orbitz coupon).

Just as an FYI, with 3rd party sites you are required to pay in full.

Yes - call WDW - they are very helpful and can scan for dates - just to mention, if you book thru any other site or agency, be sure you understand what the cancellation rules are!
Also, you can make your reservations and keep checking back to see if one pops up - reservations change all the time - we've gotten discounts a week out of going so keep trying!

Any time I have wanted more than one room, I have found it easier to do over the phone than online, especially if my occupancy isn't maxing out. I also agree that you should check third party sites as well (they usually have a place to indicate how many rooms you want to book in addition to how many people). Do check the deposit and cancellation policies of any third party sites. I book about half my trips direct with Disney and about half with third party sites, and there isn't any difference in the actual vacation experience once you get there. Good luck!
