Hello-

Hopefully one of you will be able to look at this and tell me what I'm missing here. I had a layer of the background picture (McQueen) and a new layer of text (Corbin). I outlined the text (that's where the blue came from) and tried to figure out how to make the middle of the text go away and let the picture come through. I'm using Photoshop Elements 6. I tried messing with the transparancy, making another layer of the background and putting it on top of the text layer. I'm not sure what I need to do. :confused3 I've been trying the hints off the specific thread related to this and not having any luck with those directions. What am I messing up?

Thank you so much to anyone who can explain the next step to me.

Be sure to put the picture layer above the text layer in your layers palette.

Then in the layers palette - hold down the ALT key, put your mouse between the two layers and click.

That should work.

Let me know if you need any other help.

Thank you!!! I was clicking "control" instead of "alt"...no wonder it wouldn't work! I'm so excited. DH's getting ready to go see Indiana Jones and the boys are in bed! I'm going to hang out and try to put something together that's worthy of posting on this board!!

Thank you again so much for the help!!!

You are welcome - I can remember when it worked for me the first time!

Enjoy designing and I can't wait to see your designs here in the near future.
