Help please! Wanna switch to AP but...

We currently have a trip booked in September through a TA and the tickets we have are ones that can't be upgraded to AP's. We are considering getting AP's but we don't want to lose our FP+ times by cancelling our tickets. Is there a way to get the AP's, link our FP+ times to them and then cancel the original tickets? Or would we have to cancel the original tickets first and take the chance that we can snatch our times back up.

You can just buy the AP online. Then cancel your original ticket. FP is linked to your MDE account not on the ticket. So s long as you have valid ticket (multi day or AP) you will not loose your FP.

Thank you! I always thought the fast passes were linked to tickets. So as long as I link the AP then cancel the tickets I will keep my times?

yes this should work all you have to have is tickets and if you have an AP then you would have tickets you can also call disney and let them know you already have ticket ( through a TA) but would like to get an AP and want to makes sure you still have your FP also remember that you can only have 7 days of FP with the AP in any 30 days

Yup. Seven days worth, only.
(ANY sevens days of your trip, they don't need to be consecutive.)

If you are staying at a WDW Resort, you can book as many FP+ days as you are booked at the resort.

We're staying at the Beach Club and had our FP+ made for 9/3-9/9. I purchased our AP's online and they automatically linked. I contacted the TA and she removed our convention tickets. *held breath* and our FP+ times were still there!

Now to plan our next trip at Thanksgiving!
