Help please! Small direct vs. larger resale?

Hi! I’d like to get some expert opinions on where we should buy our addonitis contract! I asked for the last go around and got a lot of food for thought and really appreciated it! We wound up “buying where we wanted to stay” and bought BCV and now would like a MK resort, either CCV, BRV, or BLT. The plan is to go every year alternating contracts.
This is now making us lean towards direct because, if we plan our trips with two in the 12 month span, we could save a good amount on annual passes for our family of 5. I don’t want to pay the price for more than 75 points direct though, so we’d have to add on a resale to supplement it in a couple of years. So our direct options are CCV or BLT, but I also keep going around and around because for the same price, we could get a resale with all of the points we need at BRV. So longer contract and AP discounts vs buying everything in one transaction? I’m also concerned about being stuck with the small expensive CCV contract if we want to book studios when it’s just us and no kids.
So many pieces of the puzzle! I’m sorry that was so long but appreciate any thoughts!

Most people say buy resale first and then when you add-on the direct they can match the points to the resale contract.

Here is the thing even though its not even math by month you are in theory eliminating 11/12ths of all contracts as they don't fall in to your use year (based on what I read you want the same use year).

I had read that but because we wouldn't need to buy more points for a couple of years and would need annual passes prior to that, I thought maybe the savings would negate the benefit of being able to match the use year? I definitely want the MK resort contracts to match up use year, but they don't necessarily need to match our existing BCV because we would really have no need to combine all of them.

Larger resale (120 -160 pts) at BLT. The 2 bathrooms in the 1 BR will be well worth it.

That does help with the number of points we'd need, but we are looking at the 2BR for CCV or BRV so we're ok on bathrooms. That second bathroom is one of the main reasons BLT is on our maybe list though haha!

The CCV 2BR has 2 baths, with the second bath being potentially shower-only or tub only. BLT is a 3 bath sitch.

We would just be doing 1BR at BLT. We’d only do the 2BR at CCV because we have 5. At BRV, it’d be 1 or 2 depending on what our point situation looks like that year haha! I think we’ve narrowed our questions down to do we need the longer contract (we are 40) and are we ok staying at BRV if it came down to it. Also I wish I had a crystal ball and knew if the DVC AP discount was sticking around for awhile! APs for 5 at the new prices are going to be a tough pill to swallow!

The difference between a general public Platinum Pass and a DVC Gold Pass is $420.

I think BRV direct is $176 and resale is about $100. For the difference in price for 75 pts, you’d need to buy the Gold Pass about 2.7 times fir the 5 of you to cover it.
