We are DVC.
Staying at Animal Kingdom for 5 nights (3 of us)
Then moving to Polynesian (2 of us).

Total of 8 nights.
How do I do Fastpasses for a split stay like this?
I was told on the phone I needed to call to "link" the stays? It's already linked on DVC site. I was told this about booking FP. That kind of doesn't make sense to me.

I will lose all advantage of booking when the FP window opens up by not being online (at the crack of dawn for me) and booking FP for the entire stay. I hope that makes sense.

My hope and goal is to just log in and book FP like I always do, but it seems that the split stay will mess that up. Am I right?

Any insight and help greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I have one night booked at SSR and another separate ressie the following day for a week (also at SSR). I did it this way since I added the one night prior to our stay. I never called MS since when I asked on DVC board they say it is fine. I also wanted to keep two separate ressies since Im looking for a last minute cancelationand having a week will be easier than 8 nights.

My FP booking window was yesterday and I was able to make for January 4-12. January 4-5 is and ressie and January 5-12 is another ressie although I did notice today they have the same confirmation number.

Go on the DVC board to confirm but should be fine. Good luck. I was able to get everything we wanted including FoP for three days, all before 11:40 am.

I’m on a split stay right now and was able to book all my fast passes together (for both legs) starting at 60 days from check in at my first resort. Split stay did not cause any issues at all.

Make sure both reservations are showing up in MYDisneyExperience. That may be what the agent was saying over the phone. If everything shows up in MDE I think you should be good. If not, link the reservation numbers.

Post #4 of the FP FAQ has extensive coverage of the details of Split Stays (an Internet term, not a Disney term) and FP booking.

I have had many split stays. Once I stayed in 4 Disney resorts that were a mix of some DVC and some not. I am always able to book all of my days of fast passes at 60 days from first check in date. The key here is to be sure your resort reservations are in your My Disney Experience. If you check, and see that they are both listed, you will have no trouble.

if you have tickets for your length of stay you will be able to book your FP from your first resort stay. I did this in April - stayed Poly then AK and i was able to book all my FP based on my first day at poly.

As long as all your reservations are in MDE you should have no problems. Now ADR's are a different story.
