Help! (please): Memory maker booked as part of Virgin Package

Hi all,

Long time no post... but we've booked for May 2017 so I am back!!

I'm hoping you experts can help me out please - we have booked through Virgin and got the deal including the $200 gift card, free dining and dining plan. I see that we have to pick the gift card up at the airport, and we did the Dining plan thing last time so I know what I'm doing there - but we know nothing of this memory maker malarky.

First question is - on MDE it shows our tickets as '14 Day Ulitmate Ticket with Memory Maker' - but then there is a seperate section to link your memory maker. I have had a look and can't seem to do this, and I'm not sure if we need to? Is there anything I need to do with this or will it just work as it is?

Second question is - any top tips re Memory Maker? My understanding is it is the ride photos and photographers you see walking around. Is there anything else I need to know to get the most out of it?

Welcome back!
Memory Maker just shows up on MDE the first time you use it - no need to link anything if it is showing your tickets as "14 Day Ulitmate Ticket with Memory Maker".

Just get your photo taken by a Disney photographer and have them scan your magicband (or ride an attraction with an on-ride picture or video where it can detect you by the band automatically) and then check the Memory Maker section of the MDE app or the website.
Most pictures appear within 20mins and you can view and save them to your phone and/or share them to social media.

Once your trip is over you just check the website and download a zip file of all your pictures.
As for getting the most out of it, I can only suggest getting as many as possible and asking the photographers if they do any "magic" shots in addition to normal ones.
(These add characters and effects depending on the location)

We've done it the same way as you twice now, and am happy to say that it's one of those things that just seems to work!

i was wondering about it as well
so we don't have to do anything, right?
in the past, we had to take a voucher to some place and get a card, etc etc
so now we don't have to do anything other than have the photographer scan our magic band right?
