Help please...first trip to WDW!

I agree with all of those who say not to dismiss Epcot. For all three of my kids, it's their second favorite park. They'd all rather go there than DHS or AK.

If this is your first WDW trip, you'll be surprised at how large it is compared to DL. As many times as I've been( a lot!) I still haven't seen it all. :). I don't remember if you said whether you have park hoppers. If you do, you can do a split day on a smaller park-like DHS and AK and just do the stuff your kids will enjoy. That way you still have a day for a Epcot.

Have fun! :D

Park hoppers? If so, on your last day check out Epcot, just to see it, but then head over to MK and stay as late as it's open or as late as you possibly can! I ALWAYS end our trips w/ MK at night, it's so magical!
I will admit though, Epcot is our kids (3,6 both girls) least favorite park BUT my nephew's (6) most favorite park! I personally just feel like Epcot needs a major upgrade, it just doesn't have the same wow factor as the other 3 parks. BUT, I don't think it should be skipped!

Oh and as far as character meals, Tusker House at AK is my favorite character meal! Also, Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary is very popular because the fab 5 are there, it's great for that reason but I'll probably never done there again. Not a bad experience or anything, I just think there are so many better places to dine.
Ohana at the Polynesian is also one of my favs, if your kids like LILO & Stitch, Mickey and Pluto are there as well!

We won't be doing Park Hoppers this trip just to save some money, but I am seriously considering working in Epcot, especially if we end up doing 5 days in the parks instead of just 4.

I can see I would be in the minority here but I would TOTALLY choose 2 days at Magic Kingdom over a day at Epcot! Epcot is alright but for a 4 day trip I would most definitely skip it. One day in magic kingdom would be rushed and you wouldn't get to do everything you wanted to. That place is huge! We spent 4 days there on our last trip and it still wasn't enough...hope you have a great trip!

Our first trip to Disney World was in 2008. My daughters were 3 & 12 at the time. We planned a visit to each park one time and left our last full day open to decide later since we didn't know which park we would like best and would want to return to. We were surprised to find at the end of the week that we unanimously wanted to return to Epcot.
