My Dad and his gf just arrived in Orlando for their very first trip to Florida let alone WDW! They are staying at the Comfort Inn due to there being no rooms available because of marathon weekend...and when they checked in the guy at the front desk told them that the shuttle leaves only at 8am and returns at 8pm! They are very disappointed that they can't go to DD as there is no shuttle service... Is there any other way to get to the parks besides taking a taxi? Anyone have any info on the shuttle service at the Comfort Inn? Thank you so much! Any info is much appreciated!

I have read about bus service that would take you to the T&T center. Maybe you could find the link on here?

I am so sorry I cannot be of more help.

My bad... it's Comfort Suites in Kissimee? Any info? Thanks...

There are seeral Comfort Suites in Kissimmee, you need to be more specific.

Nevermind, I think I figured out which. The Lynx bus isn't an option, as the last one departs the TTC around 8:00 or 9:00 pm.

What might be the best option is to take the bus from DTD to Pop and get a cab from there--it will put them at the closest point to their hotel and save a lot over cab fare from DTD. IT's still going to be $15 or so, plus tip.

I have only been to Fl twice and really don't know my way around... is there a Lynx bus stop close by that maybe they can walk to?
Thank you so much!

There should be a stop pretty close to their hotel, they run up and down 192 pretty regularly.

But like I said, it's not going to do any good, because the last Lynx bus leaves about the same time as their shuttle.

Thank you so so much ducklite!!! They said there is a stop not too far from their hotel and they are going to try to find a schedule... They are going to go to DD and probably take a cab back to their hotel! I knew I could count on someone here knowing what to do!! Thanks again!

Can they switch out and move on into a value resort? It may be cheaper in the long run!

They were told that the value resorts were all booked up due to the marathon weekend... not sure how true that is though :confused3
I tried to help them plan their trip but they wanted to go with the travel agent anyway instead of doing some research for themselves... They have been there for 2 hrs and already are so disappointed in their agent's choices... I'm trying not to say "I told ya so" but it sure is tempting!
Thanks!

can they rent a car? Very hard being offsite without transportation

I might be misunderstanding what you mean ......... but WDW busses don't go between the parks and DTD any more. Too many people were using DTD as a free parking lot and then jumping on a bus to get to the park. They could go from a park to a resort (ie, walk from Epcot to BC or MK to Contemporary) and then take a bus to DTD.

I tried suggesting that when they booked their trip but they didn't listen... they kept insisting that their travel agent told them their hotel would have shuttle service every half hour...

They just arrived this afternoon and didn't want to use one of their park days... so they wanted to go hang out in DTD for a while but couldn't figure out how to get there. They tried asking the guy at the front desk of their hotel but they said he didn't speak much English...

They should rent a car, because those shuttle hours are extremly limiting. or change to a hotel that is closer to WDW and that has more shuttles. I decided to stay on grounds when there were only 4 in the am and none in the afternoon and only two I believe at night. No thanks

You must be so frustrated and wanting to say "I told you so".......bummer!
I hope they figure something out but wanted to also thank you for your post. This has really opened my eyes and made me remember exactly why we like to stay on site (because we never rent a car)....

I'm sad just thinking about how stuck your dad and his gf must feel. Yuck. :scared:
