Hello

I hope someone can help me with my question please. I'm a complete novice at this as I'm sure it shows!!

I've heard about "renting/buying" points to pay for the Disney Beach Club Villas but I don't quite understand how it works. I know the basics are that I try to buy the required no. of points (which for 3 weeks would be approx 810 points for the time I want to go).

Do I have to buy the 810 points all from the same person or can multiple lots of points be added together to make up the 810 points??

Also - does it matter where the persons home resort is - or do I need to find only people who have home resorts of Disney Beach Club??

Like I say - sorry for being a newbie but I'm really struggling to get my head around it.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

PS - Sorry yet another question!! If I wanted to add Disney Dining to the stay would that have to be paid for at the same time of booking the points and would buying points exclude me from the free Disney Dining that is sometimes offered?

Preferrably, it would be easiest to find one member to make the entire reservation - but that may be a challenge when that many points are required.

Please keep in mind that you are not actually renting points (they are of no use to anyone but the member who controls those points) - you would be renting a reservation made using those points. If you can't find a single member able to assist, you can have the separate reservations linked together (the members would need to do that for you). The Dining Plan can be added to DVC reservations (the member would need to do that for you), but no payment would be due until arrival at the resort.

If you want the reservation made more than 7 months ahead, you will need to find a member who owns at BCV since no one else can help earlier than 7 months. Only owners at BCV can make reservations there 11 months ahead.

Free Dining is only available for cash reservations made thru Disney reservations. For a 3 week stay, be sure to know what the reservation would cost if reserved thru Disney directly - since weekends are involved, it may be less costly to reserve directly thru Disney due to the high point costs for DVC weekend nights. If the free dining program will be available for the dates you want to reserve, be sure to figure that into your cost comparison. I suspect you may be able to find onsite accommodations for the same of even less than reserving thru a DVC member so do the math before sending anyone a deposit.

Renting from a DVC member can be a great deal for a 5 weeknight stay, but may not save too much $$ when linger stays are involved.

Good luck! :)

HI!

Good luck with your stay! I agree that renting points is great for weeknights. I am going soon and paying cash for weekend nights and renting points for during the week. Just link the reservations!

Have fun!
