Would it be fun to go on the Disney fantasy by myself ? I know about the charges for being a single person which doesn't bother me.

Yes join a cruise meets thread get to know people there is so much to do and in the navigator the ships daily paper there are single people meets advertised.

There is a recent thread here. A place for single cruising parents to ask questions. That may help.

I just got back from my first cruise and while I did travel with my DH & children & my sister & family, there were times I was alone & enjoyed it.

I sat on deck 4 (I think) in the most comfortable lounge chair looking at the ocean. It was wonderful!

I watched a show one night by myself & enjoyed it.

On Castaway Cay I was by myself for around an hour, sitting in a lounge chair looking at the ocean. (I see a pattern)

There is so much to see & do or just relax, that I bet being by yourself would be fine.

Thank you im really excited to start planning my trip I'm trying to find a ta though

Only thing stopping me is the cost. Have sailed Disney 3x with a 4th coming up in 2 weeks with my family but my solo trips have all been with NCL.

I cruise solo about half the time and my most favorite vacation ever was a solo Med trip on DCL several years ago. There were more adults than children on this sailing and I met a bunch of solo travelers and I had a great time. I met some on the boards for the cruise meets and others I met at the Single/Solo lunch on board on the first sea day.

Lately I have not seen a great solo price on DCL, but I had a great price on an oceanview on Royal Carribbean in Europe and that had a great itinerary.

I did a 3 night solo on the Dream and loved it. Having just gotten back from a 7 night on the Fantasy with my DD and niece, I would love to go back and do a solo cruise on the Fantasy. The only thing stopping me from doing one this fall is the cost.

I'd definitely go for it! The only slight issue would be that I'd personally prefer a table to myself in the MDR, but even that wouldn't be a big deal as there are so many options for dining. Aside from that, I'd be thrilled to be able to decide everything myself, run the Castaway Cay 5K etc. And paying for two people sounds like a dream compared to multiplying all expenses by 8-9x like I am used to :).

I've completed nine solo cruises and seven have been with DCL. They are so many perks to cruising alone.... Doing what you want when you want; stateroom all to yourself; meeting new people and finding a good seat in the theatre are just my top favorite things do when I cruise alone.

Because my daughter is now at the age where she cannot take the time off like myself, I realized that I will have to be doing more trips alone. We had done the Baltic cruise recently and rebooked the Transatlantic leaving Barcelona. I have decided that if she has to drop out of the trip, I will still do this one on my own. Price is right and I really like cruising.
