they all look GREAT

i am hopng you Disney Experts can help make my decsion easier

oh we are going in 2004 for MNSSHP if that makes a difference

thanks in advance you guys are great:earseek:

we really like the wilderness lodge! and since you all are going to MNSSHP you will be close to MK. it is possible to see the fireworks, but you have to be on the correct side of the lodge! sometimes you are, sometimes you are not! the lodge has a feeling of being **not**in a theme park resort. it is very laid back, very homey. whipsering canyon cafe is great for breakfast and roaring forks has improved in recent years. good spot for quick meals. and of course artist point is wonderful. the lodge is just a wonderful "home" while on vacation.

It is so hard to choose!

First, I'd advise you to write down what you want to "do" on your trip, where you want to go. If you're going to be spending most of your time at MK (with 2 small girls, I would guess you would), then stay at a MK resort. Note: MK resorts are the furthest from DTD.

If you're planning to spend most of your time at Epcot/MGM, then stay at a Epcot resort. The Swan/Dolphin have been having excellent rates for teachers, nurses & gov't workers. If you qualify, you may want to take advantage of that!

Look at the theming of each resort & see what appeals most to your family. WL & AKL have bunkbeds available (top has rails). If your girls are old enough, you might perfer them to each have their own bed instead of sharing. I believe all the values & mod's have only double beds. Most deluxe's have queens (someone posted that the Beach club had doubles in her room).

We've stayed at CR & WL. If your girls can't swim & like the kiddie pool, CR does not have one. WL does, however have a nice one. We loved both resorts & will stay at them again. There is a small boat that circles between CR/WL/FW. It is very easy to take the boat & eat at their resturants, or go to the petting zoo & pony rides at FW. Also, if you're planning on doing HooDeeDoo, it is easy to get there from CR & WL (the small boat).

HTH's,

Congrats on deciding to stay onsite! I hope you are as pleased with that decision as we have been.

Determine how much you want to spend for a room and how long you plan to be in it your room or at the resort. That can plan a big factor in deciding.

We have only ever stayed at the CBR; and have enjoyed our stays there. Yes, it is a bigger resort; but there are ways of avoiding a lot of walking. Requesting rooms in the preferred section (as of 2004) or using the internal shuttle to get you to the food court. Although, our dd (2) enjoyed our walks to the food court; we stayed in Aruba 53. The pool is smaller than some places; but the quiet pools are also a nice option. We really enjoy the size of the rooms there. They are the largest of the moderates and room size is about the same as some of the deluxes. It's nice not tripping over each other or the luggage.

While we would like to stay in all the different resorts someday; but that may be a little ambitious. No matter where you decide is best for you and your family, staying onsite is a wonderful experience. It is something that everyone should try at least once in their lifetime. We love not having to worry about parking and finding the car later!

Forgot to mention you can see the Epcot Illumination fireworks from the custom house (Thanks Safety Mom) or beach of Martinque at CBR. Obviously, you can't see the entire show; but you can see the ones that go up higher. Most of the time you can hear the music from the show, too.

Check out Safety Mom's FAQ for the CBR. It is very helpful if you think you might be interested in staying there.

Having 2 kids myself 9 and 5 we feel the only way to go is to stay at a MK resort hotel. The monorail makes life so easy getting around; we feel it makes paying the higher price worth it for the ease of getting back and forth from the hotel. For the fireworks you can see them from the CR in a MK view tower room, from the beach at the Poly, from some places at WL, from some places at FW, and from the GF. Our kids prefer a Tower Conciere at the CR as it is less formal than the GF. Anyway we feel that any of the MK resorts are the best.....now when the kids get older and we start spending more time at lets say EPCOT then possibly we will look at an EPCOT resort.

Good Luck.... it is a tough choice but there is not a bad choice in the group.

If you decide on WL, Woodsview rooms 5012 to 5032 you can watch the FW from your balcony. If you are not in any of these rooms, there is a large hall window on the 5th and 6th floor where you can watch them.
