Help Planning November 2022 Trip - Already Full?

In the time it took to type that post you could have walked a reservation. And you only have to do it once every 6 days if you want. That's not a lot of effort and one reason it happens so much.
In many cases you are right. However I have experienced more than once than even though I had a 7 nights stay and only moved it every 5 or 6 day I got shot out.

Particularly VGF last year in end of November/ start December was bad.
This year it was BWV standard view. So I’ve learned the hard way that you need to move your reservation ever 3 or 4 day with a 7 nights ressi.

Theoretically it could happen with VGF because of the fixed weeks. BWV though? And others have experienced it with AKV. Those are fishy. The smelly type of fishy where DVC is setting aside some inventory ahead of an 11 month window.

Never have walked a reservation but suspect a lot may be happening because of the buildup of points due to Covid...noticed a lot of availability for our upcoming March trip and then days disappeared, then reappeared. We finally decided to just book our home resort and not worry about securing a reservation. Perhaps, if the system only allowed a certain number of changes to a reservation that might help. I never had trouble securing reservations at other resorts last minute before with flexibility, but am noticing that's not so much of the case now.
