Here is the deal:
310 points per year-BLT home resort.
The plan is this..the question is, how far ahead can you borrow points into years?

2017- I will have 347 points/2018-310 etc, etc

July 2017 planning a cousins trip- Need 2BR Villa (7 people approx) (thinking BLT/BCV/BWV?) 4nights-approx 200 pts

Aug. 2017 planning a special family trip-Need 1BR (5 people) Aulani-7-9 nights Approx 400 depending what I get (Island or pool view)

Jan. 2018-mom/daughter trip to scout locations for sweet 16-Need studio 2 nights-Approx. 40pts?

Aug or Nov 2018-Sweet 16 trip-Need either a 2 BR or grandvilla depending on people count:rolleyes1 No clue on points yet, but BLT/BVC/BWV probably.

I plan on booking BLT at 11 month mark and hopefully if we want to change get into the other choices at 7 month mark. So as you can see I am hitting alot of points in 2016 for the trips on 2017. Can I borrow from 2018 even if I book in 2016 but are not vacationing till 2017? And for the 2018 trips if I book in 2017 can I borrow from 2019?

Thanks for any help- sorry for how complicated it is, but I have such a Disney surge of exciting with so many visits!!pixiedust:

What is your use year? Need that piece of info to determine banking and borrowing for a specific trip.

This thread might help answer your questions:

Understanding Use Year

:)

Find the UY that your trip will be in, you can borrow from the following UY.

:earsboy: Bill

OK, then -

For July 2017 trip, use 200 of 2017 points, leaving you 147.

For August 2017 trip, use 147 points from your 2017 use year and borrow 253 points fro 2018. That leaves none in 2017 and 57 in your 2018 use year.

For January 2018 trip, borrow 40 points from your 2018 use year. (That trip falls within your 2017 use year. See thread referenced above for more info on use years if that doesn't make sense to you) That leaves 17 points in your 2018 use year.

For your August - November 2018 trip, you will use the 17 points from your 2018 use year and borrow from 2019 as needed. (Hopefully, you won't need more than 327 points for that trip. If you do, you will have to get a transfer ito your account, buy more points or utilize a rented reservation for some of the nights).

HTH - do check out the thread so that you understand & can check my plan for yourself.

Bottom Line: Points come from use year in which the stay occurs. You can always book 11 months ahead at your home resort - points just have to be available in use year of the stay to make the reservation.

Thanks for all your help! Gonna go for it!! Now waiting for my 11 month window for the first one to get started!!
