So frustrated right now! We have traveled down to Disney many times in the last 6 years and almost always stayed at rental villas close by. We have been very happy doing so and never had a problem.

Until today!!! :( We just got a call that our villa that we booked and paid for in August is suddenly unavailable (due to the owner wanting it so says the rental company) but they have another villa much farther away that they could let us have BUT for one less day! :furious: Apparently the manager feels its ok for us to arrive one day later!

Oh did I mention this for next week?? :scared1:

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on where to look for somewhere to stay??

Any help would be much appreciated....we are in a bit of a panic!

Thanks!

Unbelievable!!! :sad2:

I found our rental at vrbo.com, you might want to look there to see what's available, you might even find an owner looking to rent their property for less $$$ due to a last minute cancellation. What are your dates?

Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion- I've sent off a bunch of inquiries on vrbo and home away. Not much out there.

We were (are?) going dec. 27 to jan. 5. Feeling so disheartened right now. :(

We are going from 29 Dec- 5 Jan and I would be so upset if the owner cancelled our rental :headache: I would not rent the other property the management company is offering, at this point I would not trust them at all... :furious:

Im sure you will be able to find another rental, don't cancel your trip!

I'm so sorry op! I'm curious how these owner's could cancel on you. Was there a clause in the contract? If renters did that there would be consequences; seems to me there should be some for them! I would be furious--but hope you can find a good resolution!

OP ... perhaps a little more info on what size rental
you wish to rent ... might generate more suggestions.

I would hope you recieve some extra money back in your refund for them cancelling this late in the game. This seems really out of line. Hope you find something soon.

The rental broker should be a licensed Florida realtor. If not, they are conducting real estate business without a license. Either way, it's terribly unethical business practice and undoubtedly a violation of Florida law.

Contact the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (MyFlorida.com - and no, that's not a typo, it's the official Florida state website) and file a complaint with them. I'm sure they have a branch office in Orlando. DBPR regulates the real estate industry, including rental brokers, and they can yank the broker's license if necessary.

Hotwire is showing a condo available for $90/ nt... Disney Main Gate/ Celebration. You could use betterbidding to try to identify the property.

Maybe try at Bonnet Creek. We rented through Vacation Stratgedy for our trip this past October. Dont know about last minute rentals. Try ebay for BC too. Many Disers get a unit that way. We loved Bonnet Creek and it is on property.
So sorry this happened to you. We had rented a house years ago from someone that was in the UK. They cancelled our reservation too, but thankfully we had time to secure new accomadations without feeling rushed! We actually stayed at POP that year and had a great time.

I don't have any advice, but I feel the need to call and confirm my bonnet creek reservation that I rented from a ebayer.

so sorry this happened to you.

looked at some of the houses when I was down there - several of the rentals are for sale.

if it got a new owner - that might be the problem. not sure about florida but here if a new owner - then none of the old contracts will be honored.

now if it is the same owner - don't know why they would upset a paying renter.

something might have happened that is causing the owner to go down and see.

this might be a good thing for you - good luck hope you find something your family will enjoy

We have rented a condo at Windsor Hills from the following owner for 6 plus years. I would imagine that their units are booked however, when we went over spring break last year, their units were booked but they have access to empty units through their management company (Palm Tree Vacation Homes). No issues at all with the rental and these owners are great to work with. www.disneyneighbor.com

I am sorry this happened to you. How horrible! Good luck!

I would definitely check my rental agreement and ask for compensation for the angst and time it's going to take to find another property for the busiest week of the year. If you can grab a Mystic Dunes week, you will probably be happy with it. We own the week between Christmas and New Years. It's always been very busy, but maybe the new Diamond Resorts ownership has changed things. They were remodeling when we were there last, so things should be in tip top shape by now.

I'm so sorry this happened! I don't have much to offer...maybe you could take the other availability and just stay one night at a hotel? Obviously not ideal, especially if you don't have a car. Again, sorry you are dealing with this!

Not sure how many of your are traveling... I saw that Buena Vista Suites and Caribe Royale All Suites Resort still have availability. From what I saw, they still have king suites with pull out sofas available. They have seperate living rooms and bedrooms, but not a full kitchen. You can get discount rates through a link on the Mousesavers site.

I would also recommend calling Vacation Strategy and see what they can do about getting you into Wyndham Bonnet Creek.

I also plugged your dates into Dreams Res on the DIS home page and several available options came up including Sheraton Vistana, Embassy Suites, Doubletree Suites, Staybridge Suites and Holiday Inn DTD.

Just trying to give you options so that you can still go on your trip. We will be there at WBC (booked through VS) at the same time. Good luck!

Go to vrbo.com and select your dates--see what's available. I found 5 homes in Indian CReek available for your dates. We love Indian Creek;)
