We are going to WDW next week... and now I'm beginning to worry that I haven't researched this enough. We are arriving Wednesday night and staying one full week until the next Wednesday evening. We will be attending the parks everyday and are not concerned about entry to waterparks, PI or anything else.
3 of us have AP's but there's one person in our group that needs a ticket for our length of stay. (We will be attending the parks everyday Thursday-Wednesday.) I had thought that I would get a 7-day PH. 2 questions:
1) Is there another type of ticket that I should consider?
2) How should we go about purchasing this ticket? At the park the first morning (EE to MK) We want to do the run to space mountain (I know... you're not supposed to run, we walk very, very quickly) and must be at the front of the entry lines. We are currently planning on leaving PC at 7AM on thursday morning to be at MK by 7:30. Will we have enough time to get the PH and still be ready to enter the park at 8AM? TIA

I don't know, but I would like to see the answer so I am bumping this question up! :)

A 7 day hopper pass will run in the area of about $360 or so. A 7day/8night UPH will be about $10 more (or so). If you buy the UHP, you can do it when you check in. If the person using the pass isn't going to be in WDW again for the next year, then I would go with the UPH. It does expire when you leave. The hopper pass has those 4 extra admissions to the water parks on it, so if they aren't used on this trip, they are good basically forever. If this person will be going back at some point in the next year, I would say spring for the AP..only about $40 more!!

But as for saving time, I would buy the UPH upon check-in. If you aren't going to a park on your arrival day, could you still go over to the park and buy a hopper pass and just not use it until the following day? Then you would have it in hand and not have to waste the time upon EE.

Have a terrific trip!!

Assuming that you absolutely, positively will be going into the parks all 7 days, then the way I see it your only option is:

7-day Park Hopper Plus - we were able to purchase one of these through a link here on the DIS (officialticketcenter.com) for $317...of the various options we researched, this was the best price (ticketmania.com was tied for 2nd best with several others at $330)...NOTE - this is the price if you pick your tickets up upon arrival, the location is fairly close to WDW - the nice thing about ticketmania is they will deliver the tickets to your hotel for free

The down-side of this option is that you end up paying for the 4 "plus" features. However, remember that these never expire, so you may be able to find a family member or friend that could use them or maybe you could use them for another trip.

To my knowledge, the longest term park hopper without pluses is 5 days. The officialticketcenter.com shows an adult price of $265, so if you combined this with a 2-day/2-park pass (roughly $111) you would be paying about $60 more.

Thank you for your responses... Here's the deal... Our family goes at least once a year, every year. We all have AP's. The 14 yr old girl that is going with us has never been to WDW and probably will not go back anytime soon. My family is paying her airfare, hotel, and food costs... she is only paying for her ticket and souvenairs while we are there. There is very little chance that she will visit WDW again anytime soon. Also... my family already has tickets with about 20 plus'es left over from previous trips.
As far as getting the tickets the night before, our plane arrives around 6pm (if it's ontime). I don't believe that we would be able to purchase tickets at any of the parks by the time that we get our luggage and get our car and then drive home (to WDW).
Please continue to advise...

By the way, I just ran a check on the disney website and for a 7 day/8 night Ultimate Park Hopper pass, you could pay $357 on an advance purchase or $383 when you check into your room. Please note that this is the price before taxes. The $317 we paid for the 7 day PHP was inclusive of tax. I think sales tax in Florida is 6%, so this would bump up the UPH prices to around $378 for advance and $406 when you get there.

Economically, your best deal will still be the 7 day PHP, in my opinion. If you'll have a car, it would be easy for you to just stop by and pick up your tickets if you buy them from officialticketcenter.com. If you don't want to deal with it, it is still cheaper to buy from them - on their website it says they will deliver to your hotel for an extra $5, so you're at $322 all-in.

7 day PHP is $364 (includes tax, per Deb Wills site), if you buy it ahead of time, say at a Disney Store (or maybe the airport?) it will be $336 (tax inclusive). A 7 day/6 night UPH will run you $370 at the time of check-in, $347 if you buy it beforehand. I'm just not sure where to buy it beforehand. I've always gotten mine when I check-in. I suggested the 7 day/6 night pass since that seems to fit your touring times better. You can go to the parks Thursday thru Wednesday.

I would try to get to a Disney Store and grab a 7 day PHP for $336.

I think I have decided to use ticketmania.com, although officialticketcenter.com is cheaper by about $10, they only deliver to the hotel if you are there to sign for them. Ticketmania will deliver to Pop Century on the morning of the 17th, even though we are not checking in until around 8pm. Since we are planning on going to the EE on the 18th, this is important to us. And we're still saving $30.
I'm so thankful for everyone's help... this will allow us an extra 30 minutes of sleep on the 18th, and we all know how important the sleep will be since we'll be at the MK all day long!!!
WOOHOO, Disney World... here we come!!!
