Well a big hello to everyone first of all from sunny United kingdom!

I have been to disney as a child but i now want to bring my girlfreind for her first visit, and in turn this is my first adult visit as well, i am 23 and my girlfriend is 20.

I am thinking of going for 3 weeks so that we can do as much as possible, while we are their, my firts though is to go end of january into early febuary 2007, however i have been told that their are some major events in that time which increase attendences? if anyone knows the dates to avoid if you could tell em it would be appreciated?

I Understand that at that time of year the temperatures isnt that hot and it can be wet some days, but coming from the UK were used to tempremental weather?

I am currently thinking of staying in one of the value resorts as from what i remember from when i was their years ago the ammount of time you spend in your room is minimal and the money you save can be spent elsewhere? what do you all think?

someone also said Disney do special deals in "Value Season", does anyone know when this is or what they offer?

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated, and i thank you all in advance?

Thanks

Four out of five of our trips were made during late January, early February. The (lack of) attendance made touring so simple - we did avoid the Holidays listed above though. I will be sad when we actually have to start attending during non value season times!

If your going to be there that long you will have time to experience the resorts you may want to consider a split-stay so you can see different resorts.

Hello in the UK

If you can get it this might be of alot of help :

Birnbaum's Walt Disney World 2006 (Birnbaum's Walt Disney World) by Birnbaum (Paperback - Oct 5, 2005)

It has a lot of useful info on what is at each park, resort and the different restaurants (though I personally don't follow their ratings on the restaurants as everyones tastes are different).

Also handy is the Passporter. It is a planner that has all kinds of neat things like pockets to keep you tickets in and places to journal your visit.

Both can be purchased online at Amazon.com if you are able to order from there.

Hope you have a great time.

P.S. The guide book does say one of the best times to go is when you are thinking about.

The official WDW website will have info about value seasons and rates for each resort. If you can get the planning DVD it will show you a bit about each resort, the theme parks and recreation available (you order this from Disney directly from their website, it's free).
Allearsnet.com has some great photos, menus and planning tips as well.
I personally use a travel agent that specializes in Disney travel...it simplifies many things if you are too busy to spend alot of time trying to find out about special rates, making phone calls for ADRs etc.
And of course these boards...people on here know everyting there is to know about WDW and will be glad to help out with any questions.
Have a great time planning, three weeks sounds like a great vacation...
Warning! You will probably become addicted to both Disney World and these boards...
