Help on number of people on reservation

My friend made their dining reservations at the 180 mark, and is very happy with her times and places. Here's the problem - since making the reservations, another family member has decided to go on the trip with them too. There are no availabilities now at the restaurants for the same day/times (CRT, 50s PT, etc). IF they show up and explain the situation, will they seat the whole party or turn one person away? Their trip is in November, and now there will be 5 adults and 2 kids.
Thanks for any advice you guys can give me to pass on.

Most likely, but there is the outside possibility that the restaurant will not allow the extra person to be seated. They have to decide what they are going to do if that happens. If they all walk away without being seated then they are considered a no-show and the penalty kicks in. If any of them honor the reservation then there will be no penalty.

going from 6 to 7 they will be generally swapping a 6 top table for an 8 top table so there may be some waiting involved.

My trip is 2 1/2 weeks away and I had reservations made for 2 but my dad and his wife decided they wanted to tag along. So we wanted to figure out if there was a way to add them.

I learned that more often than not if you call Disney they will add the person to the reservation. But you have to call, especially if it doesn't show availability. It's worth a try.

I was able to add them both the CM breakfast which is completely booked for that day.

P.S. We were also able to add them to BOG reservation we had as well by calling.

Having the ADR changed to the correct number of guests is always best. If that doesn't happen, then show up to the ADR extra early and throw yourself on the mercy of the CM. They will seat you if at all possible. But sometimes it just isn't possible, so there is always a chance of being told NO.
