So I called yesterday and paid my balance on my August 21, cruise on the Magic. It was due June 1, but because of my credit card billing I got it over with.

Husband announces last night that he just picked up a huge job and doesn't know if he can go away for 10 days, especially being out of the country and his Nextel wont work (we travel alot, so its not like hes a workaholic or something).

Being in Florida for 10 days is an option, because his telephone works great there, so he can run the job no problem.

Can I get my money back? Or because I paid in full am I SOL!!

Another Option is getting on a 3 night or 4 night during 8/18-8/28, he said he could handle that, but an entire week could cause trouble( its a job with a deadline or penalities will have to be paid!!)

What should I do!

Is it worth the money to him to rent or buy a satelitte phone that can work anywhere? I'm not sure what they cost, but if just being it touch is important that could be the answer.

Sorry, no answer. Just wanted to say, I hope everything works out and we will miss you on the 8/21.

maybe they will let you do 3 days land 4 sea or vice versa...
or trade it for all land?
I think you have up to 60 days to change you plans...maybe 90?

My understanding is that you have up to 60 days before sail date to get all money back, whether you have paid the full amount or not.

thanks all, I think I may be able to make all this work, I can switch my DVC points and get a place to stay, I will call Costco to see about switching my cruise to the 3 day, the 4 day isn't available, so it may work out, we arrive on 8/18 and the cruise leaves 8/19, so I may just book a night somewhere, maybe seaworld, and do that, then cruise for 3 days, then WDW for 6 nights, this may work out great, I would love to do the 7 day cruise, but not if my husband is would up tight worrying about this job.

It depends on the cruise line, but with DCL it should be fully refundable up until the 60 day mark.

Can your husband stay in contact via the internet? If so, he may be able to be in his Disney "office" for part of the day, and still do work. If he has a laptop, they probably have connections in the conference rooms down by the Cat 12 rooms. Then he will have his email and other spreadsheets and programs available.

no internet, we are an electrical construction company, I'm lucky the guys have figured out the nextels!!!

Looks like I will just switch to the 3 day, at least we will have a taste of DCL!!

I had the same problem last month when we went on a 7 day Western. I'm self employed and must stay on top of my business.

Call Nextel, they rent a satellite phone.
