I could so use some advice from the DIS experts! My friend and I really want to experience the holidays at Disneyland, and our options are Mon, 11/23 or the following Mon, 11/30. The 23rd is the Monday before Thanksgiving, and I'm assuming it's going to be totally packed, since the park is open several hours longer, there are two parade times, two showings of Fantasmic, etc. So it would seem like the 30th is the no-brainer choice, but I'm just torn because we often get more done on the days with long hours, and we're big parade people, and we'd get to see both the Christmas parade and the new Pixar parade on the 23rd, whereas we'd have to choose one on the 30th. So I guess it boils down to how bad the crowds are projected to be the Monday before Thanksgiving. If they're expected to be brutal, then we'll skip it and go with the lighter crowd/shorter day on the 30th. But if the 23rd is nothing worse than a typical summer day, we'd probably prefer to go then. Would love some thoughts and advice! Thank you SOO much!

I have been TG week before the TG holiday and it is comparable to summer. I have a preference for entertainment offerings and always get to the gates early. So if it was me I would go the 23rd. However, if you can do without the entertainment and/or cannot get to the gates early then the 30th may be better for you. :)

tinks, I wish I could go both days! :) Thanks so much for the input, HydroGuy! I have a preference for entertainment too, so if it's comparable to summer and not like the nightmarish Fourth of July or week between Christmas and New Year's, then we will go with the 23rd. Has anyone else been at these times?

The only difference in entertainment offerings those two days is a second showing of Fantasmic! on the 23rd. Everything else looks identical to me. There are extended hours on the 23rd (8am-midnight), so you get 5 additional hours of park time on that day.

It's a hard choice, but if I were to base it solely on crowds, I'd pick the 30th.
