Help needed!!!

I know this is a strange question and it will be hard to get an answer, but I will ask anyways. If I was to hire a Mariachi Band(spelled wrong) to go to a private home and play for 1 or 2 hours, what would it cost? The location is Monterrey Mexico. I am planning a small surprise for a girl.

As someone stated in your POTC thread (sorry, I don't know who to credit);....it took me months to find the Community Board and you hit it on your first post..... In answer to your question; Why not email the Monterrey Chamber of Commerce, maybe they can give some guidance.

Thanks for the advice, but the directions of this section of the forum are discussions about anything. I just figured with so many on this board, there would be some one that could help. What is odd to me if for some one that has over 500 post to think this thread is sooo odd. Ecspecially compared to some of the threads on this section.

Well if the party is in Mexico it would be cheaper to hire the Mariachi there.
The price for a Mariachi here is about $600.00 per hour, and 3 hours minimum.

I saw this post this morning but I had to leave for work. I did show it to my husband though because he knows about hiring Mariachi bands. He said just head to almost any street corner and you'll find one. Now I know this is true in many parts of Mexico, but I did question Monterrey. He said, "Yep, even in Monterrey.". He said it usually costs about $200.00 (around 2000 pesos). I don't know if this will help though unless you're going to be in Monterrey.

Now your question: If you want to hire a "mariachi Band" here in monterrey, would cost you aprox 150-200 dlls for 6-8 songs.

The price varies from one band to another.

I did this las year and it cost me 150 dlls for 6 songs, but if the mariachi thinks you are a "turist man" i think they will tray to charge you a little bit more, but tell them that you olny have 150 dlls and they finished accept it.

There is a pleace in Monterrey Downtown where all the nights a lot of mariachi bands offer their services. Just ask anybody, its very very easy to get to this place.
