Received my quote from AAA for our vacation in June but the amount seemed a little high to me. Ive been doing some number crunching so I kinda know where the package shound come in at. I asked the TA to double check it to make sure I am receiving the discounts and asked her to try and give me a break down. She checked and assured me that my package includes the "magic moments" room discount and gave me a breakdown off charges.

$1286.52 7-day PH tix (4 adults, 1 child)
$1335.67 8 day DDP (4 adults, 1 child)
$1474.00 8 days @ POR (4 adults, 1 child) or 184.25/night std view

I don't see a discount in the tickets. I got the same quote from WDW online.

If I purchase a AAA package, shouldn't I receive a discount on the tickets and the room? Thanks in advance for looking at this with me.

I think that it depends upon whether your TA booked the trip as a package (room, dining, tickets combined) or as individual items. I know that if you book a package instead of a room only reservation then you will not get the AAA room discount. I am also not sure if you have to book a package (versus individual items) if you want the dining plan. Sorry that I can't be of more help. :confused3

When you book a package through AAA you only get a discount on the room portion, the tickets are not discounted. It looks like you are getting some sort of a discount on the room portion. You can call CRO and ask them for a AAA room only price for your dates and compare it to the one AAA gave you. :)

I think you should be saving a bit more, unless the resort is sold out of AAA discounts, or if your AAA agent is mistaken (which I have had problems with back in 2005 and unfortunately continues to happen). For the package you described, you should be paying more like $3,869.

When you book thru a AAA agent, you can get a package with tickets, the AAA room discount (subject to availability) and the dining plan.

I would tell your agent that the rate she's quoted is identical to what you can book on your own without the AAA Magic Moments discount.

If you have trouble, you can call any other AAA agency (even in other states) and work with an agent who knows what they're doing. I highly recommend Michelle Shears with AAA Carolinas. PM me if you want her phone #.

Hope this helps! :wizard:

Thanks for the help. I thought I would receive the discounted tickets too. If I booked separately, I guess I would. However, I wouldn't be able to add DDP without the package. Oh well. Here's to a fantastic vacation anyway! :cool1:

I think there's a slight discount, but the package breakdown doesn't list it. HOWEVER, the savings we experienced with the dining plan were well worth it. To us, it was like getting a free counter service and snack a day.
