HELP needed quickly please!! Early Entry Day or not?

I'm just finalising my itinerary for our Xmas trip as I have to start booking the ADRs tomorrow. I have just one thing I'm not sure of and that is whether to go to Magic Kingdom on the early entry day or not?

We plan on being at the park early to hopefully get some rides in, then a character brekky at 10.30, then find a spot to watch the Xmas Parade which I believe is usually at 1pm (also at 4pm) in late December.

Now, is it best to go on the early entry day, to get more time on rides, or do you think that the park would be more crowded on early entry day and make it harder to get a spot for the parade, which we really want to see?

Would appreciate any opinions on this, as I really need to get this itinerary finished in the next 24 hours in time to book the ADRs or we will be eating leftovers out of the garbage cans!

For myself, I stay far away from whatever park is the early entry one. While everyone is rushing over to that park, I stroll into another. But, that's just me. The only advice i can offer is that you try to visualize in great detail what you will do & how you will move throught the parks, how tired you'll be & so on. It might help you decide. Sorry I can't be more help! Have a GREAT time.

Mazzy,

From what I have read on several discussion forums, I would most definitely avoid a park with an early entry. That park would most likely be the busiest that day. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies. :earsboy:

I'm assuming that the early entry days in December will be the same as for Sept-Nov ie Friday mornings for Magic Kingdom. Do you think this is what will happen or do they change the early entry days over the Xmas/New Year period?

Thanks :D

My vote is go for the early entry only if you can get there early (usually 8:00). Again ONLY if you can get there at the early entry opening time. You will be able to get two or three major attractions done in that first one hour time span. Then if you get a fast pass for another attraction at about regular opening time you can even get to see more major attractions!! Since you have scheduled a late Character breakfast, you will not be fighting the larger than normal crowds that will definitely be there at about 10:00 to 11:00. You will be enjoying a nice relaxed breakfast. Be prepared to see larger than normal crowds when you get done with breakfast and I would strongly suggest getting a fast pass just before you PS time so that when you get done eating you can stroll right into the next attraction and then it will be time for picking a good spot for the parade. Since you are visiting at a low crowd time of year my vote is for early entry that day if you can get there at opeing time.

My suggestion would be to go on a non-early entry day but instead of scheduling a 10:30 character breakfast I would schedule the earliest possible ADR around 8:05 am. This would be before the park opens but you would be allowed to go into the park for your breakfast. It puts you in the park already when the rope drops and you wouldn't believe how much you will get done in the first 1 to 2 hours after opening. It also doesn't take time out of your park hours to eat. We always do this and it works wonders!!!
