I'm wondering if anyone can recommend one of the sitter services that will come to a villa we are renting. Does Kids Nite Out do that? Their website doesn't say...just "in-room" sitting. What about Fairy Godmothers? I have heard of them but can't find them online. Do they have a website? Do they go to private homes? What about All About Kids...any positive or negative reviews?

Thanks,

Mel

Good question... I, too, am looking for good referrals for babysitting services. I will be staying on site, but we are in the same boat... we need to know what services are out there and what they offer. I'll see what I can find for us.

Ive read lots of good things about Fairy Godmothers, if im not insane I think I read that they do not have a website. Go to search and type in Fairy Godmother. You should be able to find it, ive even read about folks asking for the same sitter year after year.

Well, I emailed Kids Nite out, and they will come to a vacation home. Any input on any of these services??

Thanks

Mel

Don't know anything abut KNO, but what I have heard here and it has all been good. We have used FGs twice and had Vera. She was awesome and we would request her again. They do not have a website and the woman who answers the phone is a little odd. Don't be put off by her I think she just doesn't have great phone skills.

We have used both! FG once, and KNO twice (two trips, but several times on each trip). While we were perfectly happy with both, I really liked KNO better. Mainly because their sitters (or at least the ones that we had) were a little younger. We have a 2 year old that is a very active handful, and I just feel better leaving him with someone a little younger. Not too young, mind you, but someone in their mid 20's or so. I don't think you can go wrong with either, though!

Disneymom3--so funny about the phone lady at FG! She does seem a little wacky! LOL

Thanks, I really think I'm going to do this! Darn, it's so expensive. I would love to go out 3 or 4 times, but that would be so pricey! Then again, if we went to a nice restaurant and took the kiddies, we'd have to pay for them, so we could save by getting McDonalds or a frozen pizza or something for them :thumbsup2 Here's another question...how much would you tip a sitter? I've never paid a sitter, we always use grandparents!

Thanks,

Mel

Bumping my question....anyone know how much to tip a babysitter? I have NO idea, and don't want to embarrass myself!

Mel

I used Fairy Godmothers three times when my DD was under 4 years old and we liked them each time. They were, however, very expensive!
