I'm about to iron on a design for the first time...I'm sooooo nervous! LOL

Do I iron like I normally would or am I only suppose to press the iron down..the directions said you need pressure....I'm just not sure if I apply pressure straight down and press....or do I iron with pressure..

HELP

I iron with pressure, paying attention, especially to the edges of the transfer. I have just found out today, that i need to go back over one i did a few weeks ago that hasnt been worn yet, its starting to peel at one of the corners....heres a link to what i have done so far.... :thumbsup2

and good luck....but be careful, its addicting!!!

Yes, follow the instructions and iron either in circles on up/down, side to side with firm pressure. Good luck!!!

I ended up messing up one of the corners....Next time I'll be sure to press each and every corner

Is it possible to iron to much ?

I bought a package of both light transfer paper and dark transfer paper why did I only get the tissue paper with the darK?

I didnt mention to use any with the light so I just ironed directly on the paper

As far as ironing, you want to apply pressure and iron according to the directions (i.e., across in one direction from top to bottom of transfer than across in the opposite direction from top to bottom). keep the pressure even throughout.

YES it's possible to iron too much! so be careful as you can scorch it. (also possible to iron too little.)

parchment paper comes with the dark paper b'c you're ironing that type of transfer FACE UP. Parchment paper does NOT come with light paper b'c you're ironing that type of transfer FACE DOWN and the backing of the transfer paper becomes your layer between the transfer itself and the iron.

Thank God you just told me that ....I'm about to iron 18 shirts this weekend for an upcomig trip....the one I did yesterday was just to practice on...

I have both light and dark transfters to do...

Did I understand correctly that I will be ironing on top of the transfer paper because I will be ironing the actual transfer face up? does that mean when I print the design I DO NOT HAVE TO REVERSE THE IMAGE BECAUSE I WONT BE FLIPPING THE PAPER FACE DOWN?

Whatever the directions say. For mine, I didn't have to reverse the image for he dark transfers. I just peeled them from the backing, placed them on the shirts, and ironed over parchment paper. However, my light transfers DID have to be reversed.

Good luck and have fun. Be careful of scorching especially after you've been ironing for a while. I had to reduce my time a little toward the end or take a break halfway through and let the iron cool for a while and start again.

always read the directions in the package as your instructions may vary based on the brand and style transfer you've selected. I used HP dark and I had to use parchment paper on top of the transfer "face" (after peeling off the backing). I used HP light and I had to reverse the image and then place it face down on the shirt (no parchment paper as I was ironing on top of the "backing" of the light transfer). After done ironing and cooling a couple of minutes, I then removed the backing and all that was left was the transfer stuck to the shirt.

Once again, read & follow the directions exactly. I found myself thinking I knew the directions by heart and then almost messing up so I put the directions in front of me and read them every time I started a new project.
