Hey all I know I could post this somewhere else but the campers always seem to give me the best responses! I have a very last minute suprise my mom trip coming up (Dec 15-18). Since I am now in Michigan for school I don't have an annual pass anymore (boo). So instead I'm getting the military salute tickets. Long story short the tickets expire Dec 20th and no base near me has any left. The result is I have to get them at Shades of Green the day before our first park day (Dec 14).

My question is has anyone had any luck getting day before fast pass+ reservations? The trip is mainly to suprise my mom and see the decorations (I got MVMCP tickets) but it would be nice to get some nice FP+ too!

You might luck out and get some, but it is pretty busy that time of year. Be flexible and best of luck to you.

I think it will depend of the attractions you are going for...the biggies might be tough, but if you aren't after the Dwarfs, Anna and Elsa, Soarin', or Toys you'll probably be able to find some times. They may not be the ideal times for you, but if you're flexible I think you'll find something.

You should be able to make 1 day of fp with the party ticket too. Since you can get in at 4, we scheduled 3 fp starting at 3:30.

Also consider that people may end up changing FP+ the last minute. I can tell you from our experience that if we can't get a FP that we want, we will schedule a "Next Best" one (up to our allowed 3 FP+'s) but we continually check back (after all standing in a line for 30+ minutes and a Smart phone with MDE App can be useful). So if one we want "Opens Up" then we take it. this of course leaves ours that we had now open.

So the long and short of it is, is that what I want and what you want may be different. So while my second choice wasn't ideal, I was keeping it from you and it could be your first choice.

Same actually can hold true with reservations for camp sites (and possibly hotel rooms) too. Never give up hope.

Finally, remember to have fun. It is Walt Disney World after all..... Even if you don't get your big "Wants" there is generally enough to make the trip enjoyable for all, so relax and enjoy your time. I am sure your parents will enjoy the surprise either way.

Oh yes, one final note.... Thanks for your service (or family's service which ever one allows you to get the "Military Salute Tickets").

The pixie dust must be strong in my family. Pulled 5 passes total from 2 parks. Walked in to MK after a dinner reservation at Sanaa, rode splash, walked over to the space ranger spin FP+ kiosks and pulled a FP for buzz right that moment. Walked right on to the ride while the line was "yuge"

Even grabbed a toy story today in the park. What was I worried about? I should always remember Disney is a magical place.

It's all about attitude. Don't let the little stuff get you down and you will always have a great time whether at WDW or somewhere else. :)

Had such a great time I upgraded to the Gold Annual Pass and my mom got the Silver :)! The gold doesn't block off the summer but still blocks Christmas / New Years but comes with the Photopass downloads. I don't see myself coming too much during my summer break because I like to travel other places and Disney can be a bit of a zoo then. But for me the photopass downloads was worth the difference in price since I bought memory maker twice last year. Also this year the Florida seasonal passes include parking which is nice.

I know there have been tons of threads/discussions about Photopass/memory maker, but the DW loves it. (I have to admit, I like it too.) We still take our camera and have the CM's take pictures with our camera too, but it's nice to have all those extra photos available. It's not for everyone and I am certainly not pushing anyone to buy it, but if you are a "Photo" person and like having the memories (and you can remember to stop at the CMs with cameras) you will get a Lot of good pictures.

I actually really love the ride photos which you can't really get anywhere else. I have a big scrap book and a digital portfolio.

I am definitely a photo person :D
