You guys have been a great source of information for us while we planned our cruise!! I don't know where else to turn for ideas on this . . .

My daughter is doing a project and needs to come up with lessons she learned from Disney movies or characters. For example, "From Peter Pan I learned to never smile at a crocodile."

We are just getting started. Anyone wanna play ????

TIA!!!!

Darci :lovestruc

How about Jiminy Cricket: "Always let your conscience be your guide"

How about Mary Poppins - " A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down."
::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

Perfect!!! That is what I need!!! We just need a bunch of them to go with all of the photos I have of the characters.

Any ideas for :

Mickey
Minnie
Belle
The Governor (from Pocohantas)
Jasmine
The Genie
Esmarelda
Alice
Tigger
Piglet
Ariel
Meeko
Goofy
Chip and Dale
Mulan
Pluto

Thanks!! I knew I could count on you guys/gals!!!

Wasn't one of the songs from Mulan...."Be true to your heart".....which is always a good lesson.

For Belle I would say learning about tolerance...since she fell in love with the Beast even though he was "different".

For Ariel.....there is nothing wrong with wanting to leave home and go explore somewhere else, but remember your home and people who love you...

First let me say that your daughters homework sounds like a whole lotta fun!!

Mickey: it was all started by a mouse

Genie: have patience, some people DO live up to their promises

Piglet: even little creatures can do big things

Tigger: be proud of your differences

Jasmine: don't judge a book by its cover...even a princess may want to be "normal" once and a while

Hugs,

RonnieJo :flower: :mickeybar

Cinderella is not on your list, but I loved the lesson of Cinderella II. Be yourself, not what others expect you to be.

One from Kim Possible: It never hurts to trust others, especially your best friend and his mole rat

Almost every lesson you need to learn in life can be found in Finding Nemo. Loss/overcoming grief, single parenting, letting go, taking unnecessary risks, taking necessary risks, tolerance for others, helping others, being differently abled, mental/cognitive challenges, the importance of family, blended/step families, and relying on ourselves and others to meet whatever life throws at us. And when the going gets tough... just keep swimming. . I love that movie. :teacher:

My DD had to write a paper on a "wonder"....so she's going in on Monday with all of her preliminary research on the Disney Wonder. I suspect that the teacher will allow it, since she's going to focus on the ship's engineering, design, etc....and the teacher will have a terrible time trying to argue that it isn't a "wonder." I'm sure it isn't what she had in mind though.

Any ideas for :

Mickey - from Fantasia - even someone inexperienced is powerful if they just apply themselves
Minnie - (From an episode of the House of Mouse when Mickey was preoccupied with a pinball game and Minnie just kept waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiting for him) it's okay to stand up for yourself and make people treat you with respect
Belle - beauty is much more than skin deep
The Governor (from Pocohantas) -
Jasmine - it's okay to have a mind of your own
The Genie - I agree with what someone else said: good people/true friends will follow through on their promises
Esmarelda - defending someone who's different always results in good things for both people
Alice - an imagination is a great thing
Tigger - a positive attitude is contagious
Piglet - true friends believe in you even when you don't believe in yourself
Ariel - our parents, even when they are overprotective, really do want what is best for us
Meeko - ???
Goofy - even if you're not as "bright" as someone else, never be afraid to try new things
Chip and Dale - teamwork equals success
Mulan - strong women make wonderful leaders and big differences in the world
Pluto - be devoted to the people that love you

This is a neat assignment.

Jenny :)

Darci, This has inspired me! I did an ABC scrapbook of Disney World for both my Mom & my sister after our 1st big family trip to WDW this January. We are all going again in December and I was wondering HOW in the world I was going to top it. You've COMPLETELY (well your daughter's project has) inspired me as to what to do. HOORAY!!

The Governor from Pocahontas-the good guy always wins!

Thanks!

If you were talking about me, I'm flattered and you're more than welcome. I was an English major in undergrad and loved being creative like this. Best of luck - let us know what grade she gets on her project. :teacher:
