I am trying to book a car rental ASAP for tonight. I went to travelocity.com while using AOL it comes up with Travelocity but it's got the AOL logo on it... so I put in my requirements to be picked up in Melbourne, Fl tonight at 6:00pm, returned on 8/24 anytime in the morning... smallest/cheapest car available... it comes back with a rate of $114.95 a week, or $134.95 total price (with taxes, etc) pretty decent rate... HOWEVER when I click on the rate which it tells me includes all taxes, fees, etc it jumpes up to almost $250.00 for the period... HUH?!?! Am I missing something?

Anyone use this service before have any idea what is going on here, or who I can contact for help with this.

My advice would be to book through the rental car company's web site directly. You will almost always get better rates that way. Travalocity and Expedia don't do very well with rental cars.

Can't help with the car rental rate as Dh and i haven't needed to rent a car lately, or on such short notice either. As far as AOL goes i use it and just brought up my travelocity page, and there's nothing calling it AOL/Travelocity. Just the trademark for aol that's at the top of the box, same way it sits at the top of DIS box. My only advice is to call rental agents directly and maybe you'll get another lower rate. GL
