I leave in 20 days and i need another pair of shorts. I'm a size 20 and if anyone knows where to get a nice pair it would be you gals! I just want a pair of normal lenght shorts, not those bermuda shorts! I just can't find "normal" shorts this year...!

I to am a 20 and I have had virtually no luck---Lane Bryant does have some though----I usually end up buying guys shorts---All the girl shorts I have are all tan! That seems to be the color of choice for them to produce for us thick chicks!

well, glad i'm not alone! I'll probally end up buying something at Lane Bryant although i did'nt really like the styles i saw online. I'm looking for a typical cargo style short. Usally Tommy Hillfigure (plus size line) has cargo type shorts. Not this year, when i really need shorts.

Lane Bryant has two online places to check. The regular store which I don't care for and www.lanebryantcatalog.com which has different styles. I order quite a bit from this one.

Sears does have good quality and usually a good selection if you have one near you or can order off their website.

Try Kohl's if you have it in your area.

Oh, i did'nt think of Kohls! I'll have to check them out! I also have to check out JC Pennys. My Sears dosent have a lot of plus sized stuff. Maternity took over. Why does Maternity always take over plus size sections....? Is there more preggies then plus sized gals?

Thanks for all the suggestions. My last resort is to order online...i'd like to try stuff on in the store because you never know with shorts!

I don't know if you have a Ross near you, but I found a good pair of Liz Claiborne black shorts for $7 there. You may also want to check Burlington Brands outlet (not sure if these are any where near you). found some lands end rejects there for $7 also.

I found my shorts at Old Navy and absolutely love them for our trip that was a couple of weeks ago. Our Old Navy has size 20 in regular styles and a plus size section. They were about $17.

Looks like other DISsers gave you some good leads. Good luck! :)

Classic designers will always have classic cuts - try Ralph Lauren, Elisabeth and Jones New York. (Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, Macy's and Sak's).

Try WalMart - I too have been looking for a pair of "normal" length shorts for a couple of weeks, with no luck anywhere. Two weeks of sqeezing myself into tiny shorts or fitting into uuuuugly shorts, and lo & behold, the $9.00 shorts at WalMart fit perfectly, AND the sizes run big so I fit into a 16! (I normally have to squeeze into a stretchy 18).

Just in time too... I am leaving in 3 days! :yay:

I'm glad I'm not alone! I am a size 18 and did find the BEST shorts at the BEST price just last week.
They are a medium weight cotton drawstring short. The drawstring is small so doesn't bulk up under shirts. The cotton is light but heavy enough to cover the unsightly areas we're all trying to hide.

I got black, red, navy and white. And they were on sale from $22.00 to $8.00. They fit and feel AWESOME!! I got them at Foley's (Macy's & May Co.)

I also found a great pair @ Ross. Good luck all!

I did get two pairs of shorts of layne braynt. I had a choice of light kaki and dark kaki...i got them both...

I get mine at Old Navy. I don't like them too long or too short and they have different lengths.

Good Luck!
