We are meeting our nieces/nephews (12 of them) for an evening together. We will be doing Goofy's Kitchen character meal and plan on pin trading as well. We had originally planned on doing Build a Bear (with the girls) and Ridemakerz (with the boys). BUT with them being closed, we are looking for other ideas that will end up with a "souvenir" or sorts. The kids range from 7-16. We don't really have transportation to LEAVE, but was thinking about walking to the Anaheim Gardenwalk. I want them to end up with a "thing" which is why we wanted those other 2 places but the are now closed :-(. We will be there in 2 months (June 19th). TIA for any ideas.

Maybe Lego store? Or you can get a couple lanes at Splitsville? They have areas that are sectioned off from others, so you could spread out.

Gardenwalk really doesn't have any good stores, especially for kids. Mostly just restaurants and House of Blues. I think on their website there are only 8 stores, including luggage, sunglasses, Harley Davidson, etc.

For a souvenir, I would have recommended World of Disney, and it still is there, but only about 1/2 is open, so selection has been reduced somewhat.

While I love Star Wars VR, I think with 12 kids, that'd probably be a bit crazy!

With the Star Wars VR, there is a minimum age limit and a minimum height restriction. I do not know if they charge a different price from adults. But the adult price is roughly $30. The other thing is that you are in groups of 4 people. You all work together in each of the rooms to move along the experience. I have done it twice and loved it.

Splitsville has opened. So that is another possible option as well. They have a restaurant and you can get food while you bowl.

You may want to also consider one of the character meals at one of the Disneyland hotels. Not sure about any souvenir, but you could definitely get pictures and then maybe get some frames to put them in for memories.

I forgot about that, but that is a really good idea.

The Star Wars thing is incredible, but the age requirement is 10 and older and the height requirement is 48 inches. If there is any interest among the group though, I highly recommend it!

Lego Store would be your best bet as far as a souvenir for the kids. They also have building tables in there the kids can play at. Not much else except restaurants and shops. There is the confectionery. The kids may enjoy picking out a treat to take home for later since you'll have dessert at Goofy's.

If some of the older kids are girls, they might like souvenirs from the Disney Dress Shop (across from Sephora, same side, where the Disney Dream Store/Anna & Elsa's Boutique used to be). The suggestions for Splitsville and Star Wars VR are good if the ages and interests fit. If reservations can be made for the upper floor of Catal (large party table by the windows facing where BAB and Ridemakerz used to be), you can eat while watching the fireworks (just check the entertainment schedule for the fireworks time that night). Or you can watch the fireworks from the area by the Jazz Kitchen take out. (Beignets and fireworks? Yes!) There is a magician in front of the Wonderground Gallery who seems to be very popular with kids. And the Marceline's suggestion sounds fun -- each kid can choose their own fancy apple. :)

Thank you for each of the suggestions. I was not even aware of the VR activity, but looked into it more and got even more excited. A few of the kids wouldn't meet the age requirement, and so I like the Lego store idea for them. We do have reservations at Goofy's Kitchen for dinner. We haven't been to Downtown Disney for at least a year, and A LOT has changed in that year. Splitsville sounds fun too. I appreciate all of your responses and knew I could count on you guys!

Sephora is there for any teenager that likes makeup. There are pressed penny machines in DTD and in the hotels too.

I don’t have souvenir ideas but you could always take the Disney Vacation Club Tour (about an hour) and get 3 free Fastpasses per person =)

I’m not sure if they are doing embroidery there right now. The store is half the size at the moment with the remodel.
You might be right about this. I forgot about this. My DD told me about it and I completely forgot. Whoops...
