I was able to get PS for CRT - my DD daughter will be thrilled - as I only told her I was able to get in to Chef Mickey's. She is excited about that-since it is her 2nd choice.

Any ideas of how to surprise her with the news that we have PS with Cindy? I need some creative ideas that don't cost a lot...

Thanks for your help!!!

congrats on getting CRT....it's awesome!!
Do you want to surprise her with the news NOW or wait until your trip? Maybe you could do up some kind of invitation for her, inviting her to breakfast, and sign it from the princesses?
I know she'll be thrilled!!

Congrats on the PS! This is what I'm doing to surprise my DD3. I went to the disney store and got the Cinderella costume. Of course I had to get all the accesories. That wand is so cool. There are benefits to being an only child. Sorry I digress. I'm wrapping it up and packing it. I'm going to keep it in the suitcase until she's asleep the night before our PS. I'll make a card for her from cinderella, saying she needs to dress appropriately for her breakfast. This will also be her costume for MNSSHP.:smooth:

When we went in 2001 we vacationed with another family. Had gotten the precious ps and kept it a secret from the 4 girls. I had found some of the princess invitations at a store and had someone my mom works with write them out for me so they didn't recognize the writing. The night before our big breakfast I slipped the 2 invitations under our friends door for her 2 girls and did the same for mine.

Of course when they first woke up I couldn't wait for them to find them, but DD was so tired when she woke up she walked right past them on her way to the bathroom. That seemed like the longest bathroom trip ever! Then when she came back out she walked by them again. So I finally said to her "what's that by the door" and she went over and picked them up. She opened it up and started jumping up and down and saying "oh my god, we're eating at the castle!" it was great to see how excited she was. My younger one took a few minutes to clear her cobwebs before she joined in to voice her opinion.

I must say though that it is so tough to keep it a secret. I only had to do it for 60 days last time, but now for 90 it will be even harder.;)

I just did this very same thing. Kept CRT from DD until we got there. I had made a personalized invitation on MS Publisher (which I would be glad to email you) and then we bought a Cindy dress for her to wear. A couple of days before our CRT PS, I put the dress and invitation on DD's bed in the room while she was not there. When she came in and saw it, she got excited. Then when she actually saw the dress and read the invitation, she just bounced off the walls. Cindy had personally invited her to have breakfast in the castle and sent her a dress to wear. The pictures are priceless.

Ratpack...that's a great story! I may have to "borrow" that idea, if I can find a reasonably priced princess dress in a 2T! ;) (this vacation is already costing me out the wahzoo... ) Now, I'm just hoping we can get CRT ps's for Nov.!

Not a problem. I can send you the invitation as a file or print one out for you and mail it you. And Ebay is where we got the dress, it was $23.00 total.

Thanks! I would love the file! And, I keep checking ebay. No luck yet...

Thanks to all of you who shared your ideas. I have a plan formulated - which was so obvious.

My DD is 9, and wouldn't want to wear a fancy dress costume. She does have a favorite stuffed dog that will be coming on the trip with us. She would be tickled pink if she shows up to our room and the dog is in something resembling Cinderella - i.e. a tiarra with a magic wand etc. along with the invitation. DD doesn't believe in SC or the EB anymore - so while she absolutely will know where it came from - everything is special when that "mutt" is involved.

I just want to have the invite be a magical moment.

Again - thanks for your help!

I!

sounds great....be sure to let us know how it goes after the trip!!

For those looking for Princess costumes, I just found some new ones at Costco. They are very well made, include head band or crown, and some have gloves. We got DD Cindy. They also had Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Belle. Again they were really nice and worth the $$ in my opinion.
