My aunt decided to drive up with me to LA since she's unemployed (and in need of a road trip apparently 
), but when I looked at airfare from LA to San Jose the prices are unbelievable! DH booked a flight from SJ to LA a couple of weeks ago and it was only 1/3 of the cost of this one-way ticket!
Does anyone know of any airlines known for having very cheap last minute flights? I don't mind driving to the Long Beach airport (it doesn't have to be LAX) if the savings are significant. Southwest (which is usually the cheapest for us) was charging $160+ for a 1-way ticket because they said 1-week was "last minute"

Not sure if Jet Blue goes into SJ, maybe SF? or cheaper for SW if you go into Oakland?
