We would like to go to Colorado next summer and we saw the Keystone Resort in our DVC book. Has anyone ever been there, or have any other recommendations in the Rockies? Thanks for any input.

Giving this request a quick bump!

I hope that someone who's familiar with this resort is able to respond.

Hi. We've been to Keystone skiing but did not stay in the Lodge. Very good skiing and one of the best for families. It's always rated highly for families by Ski Magazine. Their ski school is great--really take good care of the kids. We did visit the Lodge several times--we were there before Xmas and they had activities for the kids open to anyone (ceramics decorating etc.) and also ate at the restaurant. Skiing is good. Keystone is always one of the first areas to open in CO. 3 mountains to ski--usually judged good intermediate skiing. Not a lot of black diamonds or powder. They have a tremendous 5-star restaurant at the top of the second mountain (Alpenglow Stube, I think) that is tremendous for lunch or dinner. Also, Breckenridge is only 10 miles away and Copper Mountain and Vail/Beaver Creek just a little farther.

...during the biggest snowstorm of the year!! Keystone is beautiful, and I agree with Shemp 1 about their ski school - they were great and took care of me even though I'm not a kid! Since you'd be going in the summer, I can't really tell you what there is to do there then. I would imagine their hiking trails would be great, as is their food. The entire staff was incredibly friendly as well!:)

I have not stayed at the lodge itself, but have visited before and enjoyed the ski area there. I may also choose to do the same at some other point. Breckenridge is also nearby. Good Luck!
