Since I began planning this trip 2 weeks ago, I have become an obsessed woman....sitting on my *** in front of my computer eating peanut m&ms and doing the disboards for hours at a time (darn, and I had been doing so well on the south beach diet, too!) After a full weekend of it, I think my husband is beginning to question my stability. BUT I cannot stop....

Advice? I can't help it, I LOVE DISNEY!!!:lovestruc

Tinkie, you are not alone by far!!! I am planning a multi-family trip for October, and in these past two weeks I haven't gone 12 hours without checking the DIS! And when there isn't anything new here, I head over to Mouseplanet and Intercot.

I FINALLY decided on what resort - POR - and now I'm fixated on changing the ressies to POFQ if they open soon. And after that, I'm sure it'll be something else!

My DH thinks I'm kind of loony, but he probably suspects I can't keep up at this level for long... LOL!

No, my dear, I think you are perfectly sane.

I know the feeling, Tinkie. I'm going through the same thing and I worry about my withdrawal after this trip. Well, I then will have the family Universal trip in April to plan for. And then we might all go to WDW this time next year.

I have my laptop with the wireless internet that I can take all over the house so right now I'm checking the boards while sitting with my feet up in my family room. My husband gave up on me a very long time ago!

Don't feel bad. I have the same problem. Going again just a week or two after you and I CAN'T WAIT. It is all I think about. I have to fight to think about the work I have to do and it is not an easy fight. I am on every website I can find and read more and more. Read the same books over and over again, (but don't read my school reading). Sheesh!! It must be an illness. I love Disney too!!
Staying at Pop Century at the end of March for 8 wonderful days!!:smooth: :sunny: :bounce:

:rotfl: There's NOTHING wrong with you!

My DH gave up on me a long time, too!
But, boy, does he have fun on my "perfectly planned" WDW trips!
::yes:: :teeth:

Nigel-Bigel:

I really wanted POR (for me) but figured my 8 yr old would prefer the pool at CSR. Let me know how it is - it looks wonderful, right up my alley.

Thanks for the vote of sanity!!!! That helps, because the looks I've been getting around here make me feel like this::crazy: Have a great trip - :wave2:

Tigger&Belle,

If I was taking my 4 yr old, William, I'd say we should meet up! He and Jake would have a blast! Glad I'm not alone, here! You are SO lucky to have another trip to plan for!! I think, for me, the planning is more than half the fun!!!!!! An ti ci pa aaaaaa tion, after all!!!

:jumping1:

I do think my family thinks I'm goofy, but I am slowly converting them. Being obsessed is fun. :earseek:

I can't believe this. It is 1:30 in the morning and I still have not studied for my Calculus and Microeconomics tests. The reason, of course, is because I can't stop thinking about my Walt Disney World trip on July 23-30. So I sit here chewing away at sunflower seeds and I am very glad that I am not the only one like this. Unfortunately, I still have about 6 months until I can throw my arms around Mickey and give him a great big kiss.

My girlfriend doesn't think I am normal and says she is actually getting tired of hearing about Disney. However, I think I can say that I am the most infatuated person on this website. Today I downloaded the entire skit from the "Carousel of Progress". I have never been able to get that song out of my head.

Good night everyone. Only 6 months until I see...

Oh, don't you just hate it when you have finally gotten that special PS and are so excited about it, but you try had share it with friends and Family (who don't get it) and they just roll their eyes.:earseek:

Welcome, you are not alone.

Planning is half of the fun!

We just got back a week ago and already I'm planning our trip for Jan 2005! (actually I was starting to plan it when we were in WDW).

DH gave up on me a long time ago. He just smiles and nods--although he loves the hotel discounts and perfectly planned vacations.

Welcome to the club!

Don't worry too much about your obsession, it is just part of the fun of a Disney trip. This is my third trip in three years and planning still takes many weeks, plus the tidbits I pick up on this board have made for many wonderful memories. Enjoy the obsession it is all too fleeting, your trip will be here before you know it.:teeth:

Luckily, dh is just as obsessed and I am. We had to break down and get 2 computers. There was too much fighting over just one::yes:: ;)

Whew.. Sure glad to know it is not just me. DH probably thinks I'm off the deep end, but since I find a lot of money saving tips he does not complain.

It is so nice to know that we are not alone!! I was beginning to get a little worried about myself. I too, work very hard to not discuss Disney at work because I go every year and for the last two years I made people very sick of hearing about it, so I don't bring it up now. Now I am on the boards and know there is a place to go where no one minds hearing about how terrific it is to be planning and anticipating a terrific trip. ::yes::
It is hard to determine what the problem is with this obsession we have, but I think for me it becomes a problem when I am not doing what I am supposed to be doing. I find I procrastinate school work, housework, work in general, etc. while I listen to so much Jimmy Buffet and Disney music to help me feel like I am sitting by the pool or walking through the parks already. :sunny:
It's a great thing!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

:D I learned a long time ago not to let on to the "normal" people in my life how much time I actually spend on these boards. I used to excitedly tell them all the cool things I found out and then I found they all wanted to come with me when we go :earseek: !! Sorry, but I don't want to travel with a group of 20. I want to serve my own agenda. I do help whoever asks with planning their own trips though :teeth: .

My DW used to think the same about me...gone too far!! Now she spends more time on the DIS boards than me. It is a good habit to have. We call it Disneyitis. It cant be cured but the symptoms can be treated.

Here are some suggestions to help ease the symptoms:

Of course spending time here is the quickest relief you can get. A trip to the Disney Store helps to ease the pain a little. Reading the latest issue of The Disney Magazine helps also.
A trip to WDW is of course the best tonic. There is no set pattern as to how people with Disneyitis react as their car is leaving the WDW property. Some are content for awhile. Others cry uncontrollably. Others will feel depressed for some time.

We usually scrapbook our trip pictures to help but as time passes the symptoms creep back in and we find that planning another trip will begin to ease the pain once more.
