My mother-in-law never had a Barbie when she was growing up (her family was in pretty bad circumstances). She's a pretty no-frills type of person so I never knew it meant anything to her. Well, one afternoon she and I took DH's little cousin (3) to McDonald's and all got Happy Meals. The toy was a Barbie. I thought my MIL was going to cry! She said, "Look, my first Barbie!" I decided that I would get her one for Christmas. She's the same age as my mom and she had the famous ponytail ones. So I've been looking on ebay and they are sooooo expensive. I don't mind paying $80 or $90 but I haven't even found that yet. I don't care about it being in the box or perfect, just in pretty decent condition. Any ideas?

Thanks!

unfortunately, you are probably going to have to pay a small fortune to get that doll. I would have suggested to you ebay, but since you've already checked and the prices are too high, I don't know what else to tell you. Maybe do a search on the internet for the doll and maybe you could find a smaller dealer selling one. Good luck!

If you can wait until after this weekend, I will try to "excavate" the shed at my mom's house. I know I left a whole suitcase of Barbie stuff there. The oldest is probably from the mid-sixties, not an original from the late 50's, but if I can find it you can have it. It's not doing me any good in Mom's shed.
PM me with contact info if you want what I find.
