Could someone please help me try and find the best rate for just a one day rental? I am so confused on all of this!:confused3

We are a party of 6 and only need transportation on Dec. 12 to go to Kennedy Space Center (we already have tickets) and Cocoa Beach. I am assuming we will probably need a mini van to all fit comfortably. None of us are big on driving so I think we will use either Alamo or National at the Disney Car Care Center so they will pick us up and drop us off. What are their hours, because every time I put in a return time it says they are closed? Or, should I pick it up the day before (11th) and drop off the day after (13th) to make sure we have plenty of time?

I have an Alamo Insiders membership, a Visa card, my husband's company Perkspot discount, AirTran, United & Delta membership.... but not understanding the difference between ID/Corp ID, membership ID, Rate/Product Code and Coupon Code. What goes where???

I am grateful for any advice. Thanks so much!!!

I REALLY wish there was a travel company that provided transportation to both things. Renting a car and driving in the traffic really scares me.:scared1:

Here is the info for the car care center
Phone (888)826-6893 ext:MAIN
(407)824-3470 ext:LOCAL
Fax(407)824-8230Hours:Sun: 06:00 am 06:00 pm
Mon-Fri: 06:00 am 08:00 pm
Sat: 06:00 am 06:00 pm

I would get the car in the morning and return it the next morning. Because for a one day rental you will be paying for a 24 hour period.

I think they open at 6:30 but to get there at that time might be a problem? Can you deal with it when you are at Disney? That way, you will get a better picture of when the shuttle can pick you up. We always stay at the all star music and the earliest we have gotten the shuttle is 7 am and they could stop a few times before you get there.

You could take a taxi to get from your resort to the CCC.

You could rent a towncar (for the day) $$$. Probably $50-$60 /hour +tips (maybe a mileage charge). You'll be paying for the the time between when you're pickup up at your resort to the time you're dropped off at your resort.

A lot of the discount codes we use aren't applicable for a one day rental. Try using your Alamo Insiders code.

Thank you everyone. I found an AMEX code that gave me 15% off so with tax the minivan ended up being around $90 at Alamo (I haven't gotten insurance yet). I set our car pick up time for 7 AM. Just have to keep our fingers crossed that the shuttle driver will be on schedule. Thanks again for the advice!

Your personal auto policy should give you primary coverage and your AMEX card should give you secondary insurance. Double check. Most of us waive the coverages offered by the rental agencies. You don't want the pre-paid gas plan. Only renting for one day?

I'd take the toll pass convenience option. You'll pay $2 (plus the cost of the tolls) but you'll be able to use the express toll lanes and won't need to bring coins.

You don't need a GPS.
