Help name the puppy!!

No - we didn't get one.. My DD & her DH just went and got one tonight..

He's part shepherd and part something else (that we don't know).. He's black with some dusty brown areas..

DD said "Dusty".. That's a "maybe"..

Any suggestions? Something not too cutesy - a little "manly" or "rugged" - or even something unusual..

Granddaughter hasn't seen the puppy yet (she doesn't know they went to get it tonight) and she said, "Fred".. I thought my DD and her DH were going to fall over laughing.. Nothing wrong with the name "Fred", but definitely not their style..

So come on gang - let's hear some great names!!!!!

My mother's friend had a brown and black dog when I was a kid and he was named "sooty"..you know like soot from a fireplace? It was the perfect name for this dog.

My dog is named teddy, and you wouldn't believe how many times I've heard of dogs named teddy since I got my Teddy. We didn't name him...he had the name when we got him.

Anyways..pet names...we had a shepard named Brandy... we used to name all our pets after Cars... Storm, Mustang, Sable etc..
I love Dakota..(gonna name my husky that..if I ever get one)

Here is a picture of our darling dog BJ - he is 1/2german shepard and 1/2 black lab -- I vote for BJ as a name
