My parents first visited WDW back in the 70s with some friends. They told me that the first place that they stopped was in the Magic Kingdom at a restaurant. They remember that it had a talking buffalo head on the wall that was actually right above their table. Does anyone remember this restaurant? I know it's not a lot to go off of.

I'm guessing they're mixing together the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon (the restaurant/stage show) AND Country Bear Jamboree (Buff the Buffalo), the attraction.

Maybe not..but I don't remember any restaurant with the talking buffalo head on the wall.

Edit: Looks like I was right about the heads...but the previous occupant of the space was gone before my earliest trip to WDW.

Pecos Bills in Frontierland. Not sure if the "heads" still talk though, or if they are even still there. I didn't notice last time.

The Mile Long Bar? Not there anymore but I think that was the name??

That's correct. The Mile Long Bar had the same three heads as in Country Bear. The area that Country Bear Jamboree currently exits at was where the Mile Long Bar was. The heads were mounted there. I'm not quite sure if they moved or not.

You guys are great! Thanks for the help and the links. It will help to take my parents down memory lane.

I could have sworn that the heads were still there, in Pecos Bills.

Doesn't the Country Bear Jamboree dump you out in PB's and they are off to the left?

Yes, it has something to do with country bear jamboree. I remember being very little and my parents ordering food after the country bear jamboree and the talking head was similar to country bear jamboree.

:thumbsup2 Thank you! I seriously thought I was going crazy there for a second.

I remember being little and wondering how the three of them wound up in Pecos Bills right after we saw them on the wall in the Country Bears.

It was the Pecos Bill counter service resturaunt. I am not sure if the heads still talk, but I remember it fondly!

Country Bear Jambore has a talking buffalo and deer. up on the wall and the Daimond Horseshoe review and mile long bar is right next door and you used to be able to eat in there is what I would think it was... it was fun and they had the can can dancers and cowboys all on the bar. you could sit on the floor at table area or up on the balcony. was a rootin tootin time...
