Help, my fridgerator is not running.

Help, My refridgerator is not running
The freezer is inthe 40s and the refrige is in the 60 degrees. I think I spotted an oily green substance on the floor (freon/oil?).

IT is about 13 years old and we live 30 + miles from a repair person.. Should I buy a new one or fix the old one?

If I buy a new one what features do I want/ What brand?

If you buy a new one, this one looks like awesome. This is the one I want.

Probably much cheaper to buy new and you can get an energy effecient one.

I have a Kitchenaid and like it a lot. Whirlpool makes them or, is it the other way around? Oh well, We have a side by side and that I could live without. I hate that narrow freezer and all. I do love the filtered water and ice. We all drink a lot more water now since getting it.

I had a GE and won't buy their products again. I do like whirlpool. Do some searches on the web pages to get an idea of the features each offers and then go for it. They are all pretty much the same. Go for dependability, style and the individual features you like.

By the way, I went with Kitchenaid over the Whirlpool, even though they were the same and only 125.00 diff in price because it has double the warrenty on the compressor (10 yr.). Seemed to be worth it since I have lost several fridge/freezers full of food to dying machines.
