Help My DH Can't take a picture worth a darn!

To give an example... Our first trip to WDW we were at the meet and greet for Tigger, pooh and friends... I am holding the little one so I ask DH to take a picture of my ODD with Tigger...

The picture is of my DD with Tigger's head cut off.

His responce.. Well you can tell it's tigger cant you?

Is there help for this man?

Any tips on how to get him to understand what a picture is about?

On Maui... We had to cross a raging river. I take a great shot of my ODD and DH in the middle of the river crossing it. I pass him the camera and ask him to take a picture of me with my other DD(who is in the Kelty backback) crossing the river... He zooms in and only get's our faces... no river....

HELP

Is this something that can be taught? How to frame a picture.. I dont want to sound like a witch when I say, now... dont cut off heads, get us IN the DAMN RIVER... have the castle in the backgound...etc...

My DH doesn't have an issue with burrlyness, He cut Tigger's head off nice and crisply!

Hmmm...

I had a fellow with a problem with this.

We were on the Wonder and he was supposed to take my picture with Captain Jack and he zoomed in on our faces and cut out the nice backdrop DCL made and our bodies!

After making more fun than necessary of him and comparing our two shots, he never did it again.

Oh, and telling him I'd chop off his zoom finger!

Whats worse than that is handing a video camera to a friend or relative and have them zoom in and out incessantly. You'll get sick watching it.

I bought a new PNS camera with the LARGE viewing screen... This past summer on a trip to HHI he used it a few times. All the photos he took were so poorly framed.. Like me doing the macherana with the Mother from ExTreme Home Makeover... He focused just on me and not on the whole like up of all the mothers doing it....

At least he didnt cut my head off...

I guess he is balance and compositionally challanged.

I think it's great that your husband crops everything out of the frame but what seems most important to him. He may have a thing or two to teach the rest of us about composition.
